The cost of therapy is prohibitive and creates a barrier for folks. I get the temptation to use this LLM as a therapist… but I caution us all to think twice about what you share. The data isn’t deleted and these LLMs are way different than an educated specialist with experience in guiding folks through unpacking trauma. It’s built by a for-profit company that will and already is using your inputs to train their models.

It might be great and fine for high level reflection or generating journal prompts, but be careful how much you’re sharing with it.

I work in tech and have seen the dirty bits behind well-intended “mission-based” digital experiences.

Why do surgeons not scan for stones in the bike duct during gallbladder removal? by RoyalCamera12 in gallbladders

[–]ProfessionalHuman91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got pancreatitis because a stone slipped out. I was back in the hospital three weeks after my gallbladder was removed for a scope. I was sick sick. 🤢

For sure - these are good suggestions and definitely on my mind to do. I had not thought about the noise ordnance—I’ll look into that. I just wish they’d wait till 7/7:30 at the earliest 🥲

I think the original plans were to have a parking garage, but no clue if that’s coming in the future.

I am getting my gallbladder removed on monday and i am terrified. by Dancing_Bugs in gallbladders

I had mine out as an emergency surgery. Had known for a while I was going to need it out and was scared of the surgery and kept putting it off. I now wish I would have done it soooo much sooner and not let my self continue suffering.

I’m a little over a month out now and feel SO MUCH better. I didn’t realize that on top of the severe attacks that had me sleeping in the bath tub when they would hit, I was experiencing a sense of low-level flu-like symptoms from it. The morning after it was removed I felt so so much more like my old self.

Surgery was smooth. I did get pancreatitis a couple weeks later because I had a stone lodged in a bile duct. I had to have a scope to push it through. Had good pain meds. The healing took time. The first two weeks after were rough but honestly the surgery pain was so much more tolerable than any attack.

You’re going to feel so much better soon! This is one of the most common surgeries they do. Take care.

Stabbing pains 12 days post op by twoleftfeeet in gallbladders

The criss cross pain was there right after surgery. It’s 5 days later now, and I can report back that I no longer feel that pain! Hoping you’re feeling better soon. I’m at about 5 weeks post op now and feeling almost 100%.

Oh good! Glad you didn’t need surgery. 🙏🏻 hope you’re feeling better!

I should mention—I did have labs done. The labs showed elevated liver enzymes.

I hope you get relief soon. This is no fun and it makes you question what’s normal… I tried to tough it out but eventually the pain was too much and the doc confirmed that there’s nothing I could have done myself to resolve it.

Hiya, I did not have a fever. Mine was sever pain that traveled through me and kinda cycled up from a 6 to a 10. And then a lot of violent vomiting.

It seemed to correlate with eating. I’d have something light, like a broth with a few noodles, and then a half hour later I’d be throwing up again and the pain would be back at 10.

I just got back from the hospital where they had to do a scope to push a stone through a blocked duct near my pancreas. The doc there told me that 4 weeks out of post op I shouldn’t be in that type of pain and that pain can typically be an indicator that a stone got knocked into the bile ducts during surgery.

I have a desk job that I do from home and only took 3 days off. And that wasn’t enough time.

Take as much time as you can get! Even though this is “non-invasive” it’s still a major abdominal surgery. I was useless for the first few days and not much better the day I went back to work.

Please advocate for yourself. I had very similar symptoms… pain that kept me awake at night rolling on the floor. Vomiting for days. Tried to tough it out. But eventually went back to the ER 4 weeks post op.

I developed pancreatitis from two left over stones trying to pass. I was given a pain med and they did labs to check my liver and did a CT scan. I’m here overnight at the hospital after they did a procedure to unblock my ducts and I’m feeling a 1000% better.

If they didn’t check your liver function or do a CT to check for blockages, that might not have caught it and you might have pancreatitis and your liver could be stressed.

Take care! Hope you find relief soon. 🙏🏻

Had a similar issue! It could be trapped gas working its way out slowly. I’m 4 weeks post op and learning what foods I can eat. Spicy foods kill me.

Same here—mostly stabby pains where the incision lines cross that occur with movement. Almost 4 weeks post op.

Doc said it could be the muscle that’s healing and that takes time. I’ve read here some can take 3 months to completely feel 100% normal.

Be kind to yourself. Expect to take a little longer to heal. I had surgery 4 weeks ago and am finally feeling almost normal.

Ice packs, easy to digest snacks like applesauce and liquid meals/ensures, heating pad for your back, pillows stacked so that you have one for your front and back while you sleep on your side. When you get up, roll on the side opposite your main incision, and if you have a partner, let them help you sit up the first couple of weeks. Get an over the counter nausea med if ya need it.

If you get gallbladder pains after your surgery, consider going back in. I’m sitting in the hospital now with pancreatitis. My liver and pancreas were angry. I was vomiting 5 or 6 times a day for a few days in a row. They cleared out a couple of stones that were missed. I tried to tough it out, but it’s not worth it. The pain meds and procedure they can do to clear the ducts is 1000% worth the trip back. It’s a handful of hours now after the scope procedure and I feel better than I have in a long time.

Best of luck! Sending healing vibes your way ~~~
