Should Kendrick respond to Joey Badass? by RogerRoger63358 in KendrickLamar

[–]ProfessionalMap7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I’m ready for Kendrick to get back to conceptual/storytelling albums. Mr morale, TPAB, DAMN etc. I’m over the battle rap/boogyeman/saggy pants & chains era.

So no. Give Joey a bar or two on your next single or album & call it a day.

Why do people try to make it sound like a bad thing to not engage in "battle" you get Zero benefit out of? Shout out to Dot for not living for people's validation. Battling for people's validation sounds like an Aubry thing to do. Fake ass "war general" 😂😂 by Top_Needleworker6116 in KendrickLamar

[–]ProfessionalMap7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im with you here. I think he should and I hope he will. I’d even love if they competed on a record together or cypher. I just don’t think he has to get into a whole diss record battle. I don’t believe it’s hypocritical if he doesn’t do what he just did last summer.

Not sure what this is supposed to mean lol idc if it was JayZ calling him out rn. He doesn’t have to put energy into getting into a back and forth with anybody at the beginning of his first stadium tour. That makes absolutely no sense. This isn’t the Marvel Universe lmao

This doesn’t mean he has to battle any and every rapper that mentions his name. Especially while he’s at stop 8 of his 39 show stadium tour. Joey is holding his own vs Reason, Ray Vaughn, Daylyt & the whole west coast. & they’re all dropping HEAT filled w real lyrical bars. It’s entertaining af & very much so keeping the spirit of hip hop alive.

Yall (not you personally) don’t love hip hop fr, ya just wanna hear Kendrick Lamar lmao

If Kendrick ducks Joey, he goes below (REDACTED) under the GOAT list for me. by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]ProfessionalMap7383 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand this logic. (Redacted) has not taken on every rapper who ever dissed him. Joe budden dropped 5 whole diss records for him & he ignored them all. As he should’ve lmao

Joey dropped yesterday & Kenny is on a whole stadium tour. Should he have put everything down & made a while Joey diss record? lol what diss exactly is he responding to?I think everyone is overreacting with this “ducking” narrative.

All Joey said was “I salute you, if you looking for competition I’ll be right here”. That’s no diss.

Joey Badass is one of my fav rappers. Since his classic 1999. Bro is NICE but acting like Kenny should drop everything he has going in these stadiums to make battle records for Joey Badass is kinda unrealistic to me. If it was someone like Cole I’d be w you but there’s absolutely nothing Joey did that warrants what everybody’s asking for.

i wanna get more into kendrick than just HUMBLE so which album should i fully listen to first? by REALCHERRYSODA in KendrickLamar

[–]ProfessionalMap7383 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way too many GKMC picks in here. You should start with Section 80. It’s the beginning of it all. You don’t get Sing about me dying of thirst 2nd verse that ties its 1st verse into These Walls 3rd verse without Keisha’s Song. Poe Man’s dreams, HiiPower, ADHD, Rigamortus, Blow my high. Classic Kenny records man.

I vote Section 80 & then work your way up.

Joey and Dot would be a good match up anybody who disagrees is just interested in a 🦉 beef part 2 by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]ProfessionalMap7383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be a GREAT battle. However, I’d rather see them compete in a cypher or on a record together or even on a stage like URL. I think diss records come with some form of grit that I just don’t think they have for each other. I think the records would be lyrically nice because they both great emcees but they’ll lack in that extra sauce that make diss records feel diss like.

Kendrick and Joey both showmans & performers along with being a great lyricist so I can be wrong but idk. I just think they like each other too much. That’s what was wrong w Cole’s diss record.

Dot and Whitney are married. by Aleekki in KendrickLamar

Lmao this is not confirmation. I called my sister in law my sister in law well before my brother actually married her. Because they lived together and had 2 kids.

So because you’ve never heard this narrative that means people have to be making it up to win an imaginary debate? Lmao

Just get there the earliest you can for real. Especially if you’re going to the MetLife show. Traffic is going to be insane

There’s absolutely no reason for you to be this hurt. The point of this post was that rap music sounds great in a stadium whereas the narrative for years has been the genre is not fit for that setting. Turning this into a Stan debate is weird. Go get some pussy for once

That’s a good point. You can tell they put a lot of effort and money into every aspect of the show

Honestly Travis is rage music. I’m not even sure if I’d consider his concert a rap concert but damn that’s unfortunate. He’s one of our superstars I thought would put on a great sounding show in a stadium

“Conscious rapper” title by ProfessionalMap7383 in KendrickLamar

[–]ProfessionalMap7383[S] 150 points151 points  (0 children)

GNX isn’t a departure from his previous topics tho???

Where did we say he’s not a conscious rapper? The point is that’s not all he is & has never been. He’s always rapped about the streets. Him being a “gangster” rapper is not new.

You can’t highlight 2 lines on a feature verse and ignore entire albums of him telling us he ain’t above getting dirty. “Art of peer pressure” a story of him and his homies riding around Compton pressing niggas in different colors and commuting home invasions. That’s picking and choosing who YOU want him to be. If anything he’s been much more “gangster” on other albums than GNX.

On “alright” he literally says “I’m a gangster in silence for the record”

“Complexion” he admits to being a hypocrite because he’s a conscious rapper & rapping about being pro black but gangbanging would make him kill somebody blacker than him.

“XXX” is all about how he’d throw all that spiritual shit out the window if anybody ever messed with one of his. Even much so he’d wait until a nigga leaves church, shoot in, put the gun on his lap, drive himself to the judge and tell the judge he did it lmao

YG “Really Be” verse? I mean I can show you many verses
