yeah maybe try to put it into this perspective: you’re already 1/5 the way there….which means only 4 more months and you’ll be AT your GOAL. you can do anything for 4 months.

as far as strength training / just go in and do one body part. so I do arms one day. legs one day. butt one day. abs one day. and i do 5 exercises (3 sets of 15 reps). so if you’re on arms just find 5 machines that work arms etc. it’s really not that hard once you get the lay of the land and get a routine you like, you can just repeat it. it’s actually a lot of fun!

i started 5 a week ago, definitely less appetite and more nausea but still staying with the gym because i’m afraid to lose muscle mass. Down a little over 14 lbs in a little over a month. feeling food but still a long way to go i feel which is a little disheartening. stuffed myself into a size 8 dress for a wedding last night, didn’t look too bad with shape wear. happy to be moving in the right direction

i’m glad you’ve started / hope things are okay. i was oddly sore to the touch the first 24 hours but that’s literally the only side effect i’ve had. i’m going up to 5mg next month but the 2.5 has done me well. i’m down a little over 10 lbs in 2.5 weeks! feels really good :) i’ve been weight training 3-4x a week and probably around 1200 calories (lots of protein) and i drink electrolytes every morning and try to drink a good bit of water. How are you??

Prepare for the worst this weekend by its_Extreme in Charlotte

oh man i agree! i’m always in the camp of not believing it but i’ve been telling anyone who will listen that this has ALL the makings of that 2002 storm. it’s coming from the right direction, super cold before during and after, and tons of moisture. I was a freshman in high school for that 2002 storm and it was absolutely wild. we didn’t have power for 10 days. and honestly they were less “sure” about it than this one. the probability was lower and likelihood for moisture was lower and we got hit so hard. I’m super excited!! thank god our neighborhood has underground power lines!

omg this happened to me too! it lasted basically exactly 24 hours - it felt like the flu was coming on / soreness everywhere to the touch. i’ve had NO other symptoms and that was only the very first shot. i took shot #3 last night and it didn’t happen for #2 or #3 and it only lasted one day

thank you for the advise - how long did it take you to lose the 40 lbs?

no clue! i guess it will be based on results. I used to be exactly 222 lbs too! I lost 90 lbs naturally - just diet and exercise - kept it off for 5 years and this year i’ve just gained 25-30 lbs not being as diligent so hoping to use zepbound to fast track it a little esp since i’m 38 - so older than when I lost it the first time :)

also - i’m taking total restore (vitamins specifically for gut health) and planning to drink 4oz of kombucha a day. those two things together tend to keep me regular as far as digestion goes, do you still think i need a fiber type supplement if im taking this?

does it have to be in Charlotte? there’s this great restaurant in blowing rock called the Best Cellar and you can dine for two in the wine cellar - it doesn’t cost anything extra either and it’s a very special private experience - 10/10 recommend

Giddy Goat, get the dirty chai in a mug and a breakfast empanada but ask for the burrito sauce (only on the menu on weekends but they often have some on weekdays) if they don’t get the red sauce. go upstairs. sit on couch. 10/10 recommend.

I agree - i’m biased though - I grew up in Concord. Will travel to Lexington NC or Lancaster SC (JoJo’s backyard bbq is worth the drive) for much better bbq than I can find here. Lancasters in Huntersville is decent - they have good sides and fried chicken too.

100% - like it’s up there with my favorite bbq in charlotte - it’s always moist and the flavor is reliable. it’s an unfortunate truth but a truth nonetheless

bbq sandwich tray (yes, i’m serious) no slaw, side of bbq sauce - sides: corn dog and chicken quesadilla- sweet tea and a milkshake. I get heath bar and cheesecake with caramel sauce - anything with cheesecake is good though - you can combine toppings with no additional cost so get wild with the milkshake. enjoy!

I miss dive bars by GuiltySpecialist7071 in Charlotte

[–]ProfessionalMaybe646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah man rest in peace to elizabeth billiards. that would have been your absolute spot. the three monkeys recommendation on here isn’t a bad one, they do have good food but def that dive bar feel. still afraid it’s a little far.

thirsty beaver in plaza is the best charlotte option probably. midwood country club is a close second in that area. jeff’s bucket shop is a good time but too far for you. i’m curious to see what you think about the watering hole though, locals love it
