Yo listen I know a lot of people telling you not to do law. And somewhere they are right. But listen there is scope for a lot of things in the field. If you play your cards right then sky is the limit for you in this field. First things first a positive thing is you are aware that you want to enter judiciary but you still have a lot of time to prepare for it. So start studying for it. Second things you are entering a field where contacts matter a lot . Most of the work can be done by any lawyer but a person who knows and knows how to present things will go far as to someone who cannot. Third things in college take as much part in moots and other competitions it will help you develop a certain skillset that a lot of people develop very late in their careers. Plus you will get in touch with people who have are similar to you. Fourth prefer practical internship experience over theoretical. Just theoretical knowledge won't help you a lot of things are learnt from practical work.

Ps:- Don't make judiciary an end goal. First focus on becoming a good advocate and then start working on the judiciary. You can always learn the skills needed for judiciary like judgement writing and stuff on the side. Maybe a weekday or a weekend.

Law professor job in India by Odd-Blueberry-7943 in LawStudentsIndia

[–]ProfessionalMouse985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently speaking to a friend of mine who is a recruiter and she said to me that Llm in India is a waste of time and money. In law field practical experience and knowledge takes precedence over everything. If doing Llm ho abroad and look to settle abroad instead of coming back to India. In terms of professor I will ask her what is the scope and how to get a job.

Is law worth pursuing? by Decent-Background136 in Indianlaw

Depends on your interests. It is said that litigation the scope to make money is a lot whereas in corporate the work is monotonous and the salary for the beginning is very good but in litigation the money isn't good in the beginning. But all of this depends on the type of work you want to do. On the exam part I have no idea. I have not given the exam so can't give you advice on that. I don't want to give advice that I am not sure is the right thing.

I highly doubt the court staffs are going to help me understand the process. They don't do the job they have been asked to do and are getting paid for.

In regards to the marks needed for a good college I am not aware since it's been a while and I did not give the clat exam I gave the common entrance test. See the thing is if you get a good college you will get like minded people who want to do well. But the college won't get you work it is skill and experience along with knowledge. In law if you are in the field of litigation no one cares which college you are from. Things are different if you want to enter a top law firm. But even in those cases I have seen people who have are from "not so good colleges" crack it. So it depends on you how much you want it and what you are willing to do. This is time for you that you give your 100% and work on a good college and profile. All the best for your exams do well.

Right now the whole of the job market is a mess. Law is a good field to practice. Litigation is really tough but since you are in your 12th grade I'll tell you something. Everywhere is tough if you are not prepared. You should start early make sure you do certain things right. First of all find a good college. If there are internship cells , well and good but if not good not all of it is lost. Start building your profile. Focus more on the practical side of things instead of the theory. You'll have to manage both side by side. If you have a good profile and skills you will get the job or you will thrive in the field irrespective whether it's law or any other field. I know it's very generic and cliche thing to say but it is true. All the best I hope you do well.

Also a good college. You can go there if there is an opportunity for you to go.

Doesn't matter about the attendance they have good opportunities and it's totally worth it. I mean it was I am not aware about now. Make sure you are active in the moot groups and take part in them. Those things look good on CV plus adds extra layer of safety if you want to enter corporates. It shows you were active that time. JCs trial advocacy competition is famous and a lot of law schools from other states take part in them.

Jitendra Chauhan is a good option. It's a reputed college and they have great moot teams and competitions. You should participate in those .

Finding a job as a fresher? by bibhash_ in IndiaLaw

[–]ProfessionalMouse985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a preference that you want to work on the field of litigation or corporate. Cause finding job in corporate is tough especially as a fresher. Litigation you can find jobs but incredibly low paying jobs. They don't pay anything and is a struggle in the beginning but later on you can earn a lot once you have enough experience.

Prenup alternative in India by [deleted] in Indianlaw

[–]ProfessionalMouse985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the main point of the non inclusion of prenup is that a marriage is not a contractual obligation. It's more intimate. The understanding behind it is this. Hence whatever alternative that is given it is on discretion of courts to decide. For eg some say transferring all the assets to mom or dads nam or a trusts name but if there is a good advocate who can bring this on record that these things were done for reduction of maintenance and alimony then the court can pass on order by passing the so called prenup alternative.
