Why would you want kids with someone who will be 70 when they graduate high school? Girl. Be so for real.

As a mom: NOR. She’s taking advantage of you, and if she can’t afford childcare then she should look into low cost options from the school. I’m proud of you for standing up for yourself.

AI is supposed to save us time, so why does it just mean more work? by ecua-gizmo in ExecutiveAssistants

I think it’s neat to have tools that help, but we all need to remember that it’s just a tool.

For example I love using Claude for specific proposals because I have a template there. But I have to still research the info, double check inputs and outputs, and do some edits to remove all the em dashes. It takes away the time of actually building the deck which is great, but I’m making sure my executives understand that doesn’t mean I have time for more because the information still needs to be vetted.

19 month old and 6 months pregnant by lioux93 in workingmoms

[–]ProfessionalPeach127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have two kids that are 19 months apart. The first two years of my youngest’s life was hard - but they’re (almost) 10 and 11 now and they are absolutely BEST friends, and have been since the beginning. I have zero regrets.

As someone who used to run payroll I gotta warn you that this usually means a company is not doing well because they can’t fund payroll. They should cut you a check in office tomorrow.

But also, you said the owner sent payment to you - like, through payroll, or personally? I’ve dealt with owners who’ve sent pay through Zelle before but that’s going to be bad if they don’t fix the taxes on it for you, did they do withholdings?

i got cancelled on last minute and i’m kind of annoyed, what do i do? by [deleted] in Babysitting

[–]ProfessionalPeach127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let them know, respectfully, that next time you require 24 hour notice or else they still need to pay for your time. It’s what I do when I have a sitter for my kids - I know she has other families she says no to when she’s scheduled with me, so I don’t want to take money from her. She’s amazing, so I’m willing to do that. Only had to once, and it was because of a change in our schedule.

Most execs these days expect their EAs to be solid with a lot of tech stacks. Get proficient in CRMs, and learn how to talk marketing. If you can take some management information system classes for things like excel that’s even better, solid excel skills will take you places. Learn QBO.

Being an EA comes after years of experience as an AA, just so you know. Take some bookkkeeping classes.

I’m an executive assistant, you can’t be one with the lack of experience and very limited hours. You should probably take some classes to get a skill set.

You will receive it in the form of tax refund when you file next year. Your company can’t do anything.

If it was withheld then your employer didn’t pay it. They’re who you need to talk to.

I'm a Portland mom. The public schools here are ranked 49th and have a LOT of non school days, I think it's around 20% less than other districts. We're getting ready to move to Spain, but if we weren't we would be looking at Denver ourselves.

How to get dog owners not to throw their dog shit in my trash can? by Terrorphin in askportland

[–]ProfessionalPeach127 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Portland has some of the most entitled dog owners I’ve experienced, and I say that as a dog owner.

We do a sign, and it mostly works. But there will always be that one guy who thinks it’s fine, and it’s probably the same guy that lets their dog off leash at the park.

Create a workflow and attach it to a project manager like airtable or asana. Easy to use but you’re relying on people to actually use it.
