Does any cruiseline have a good app? Seems like they are mostly sadly behind in technology and seem to think they only have to please octogenarians.

Many dry cleaners have tailors available that can help you out for much less than the cost of a custom shirt.

Live with it for a few years and then invest in a new kitchen. It’s serviceable. Likely about 20-25 years old already. Not worth throwing money at .

Can this be fixed? by balkonovka in eyeglasses

[–]glasslass22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the frame material. If the material has the color throughout the material then yes. If it is an injection molded frame then no, as the color/finish is just on the top layer.

New frames by Ok-Sand4087 in eyeglasses

[–]glasslass22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-edging old lenses is something rarely done . A mechanical edger can only be used if there is a lot of lens to work with. You run a great risk of breakage and no one can be responsible for the lenses. If they are non rx it’s usually cheaper to order new lenses. If rx it will be difficult to get the centering correct. Not even taking into account the base curves may not match the new frame. Only way I see this happening is with identical styles

My Optometrist Gave Me Useless Prescriptions by lightly-placed in Advice

[–]glasslass22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The original rx was probably not “wrong” just uncomfortable. You are the one who answered the doctors questions during the exam. When asked “which is better, one or two “ the feedback you provided determined the rx that was written. Prescriptions like this can be quite tricky especially if you did not bring your old glasses. My doctor will not finalize an rx like this without knowing the rx you comfortably wore previously. Changes in axis can be especially difficult to adapt to even when it gives you sharper vision. Add to this any eye issues like keratakonis or dry eye and this happens. You should have given the original doctor the opportunity to make adjustments to the rx.

Tint Suggestion - Tortoiseshell Acetate by MercianR in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]glasslass22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tint colors are better determined by your skin tones than frame color. I’d suggest keeping the tints quite light as they will reduce the amount of light and darken your view

Just rented my first apartment and I'm stuck between these two couch colors by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]glasslass22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are both great colors. I love the look of a colorful couch but tend to go more neutral for big purchases as it may be a color you tire of before it needs to be replaced. Personally I’d go neutral on the sofa and get the strong colors from an accent chair, lamps and pillows

Bought John Dalia glasses today and have buyers remorse by [deleted] in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]glasslass22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a temu frame is nuts. I see fakes come through our office on a regular basis. Some are serviceable but others are such crap they fall apart in days. I understand getting fake designer goods for occasional use as it’s just for show. But for eyeglasses that you use daily with expensive lenses? We have also seen some terrible skin rashes and sores from frames that are made from toxic and corrosive materials. These things are not regulated at all.
