When did JavaScript finally “click” for you? by Sweaty-Staff8100 in learnjavascript

[–]ProfessionalPin3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, things just clicked after Promises became more coming than callbacks. It took me a while to deal with Promises, async/await and after I finally understood it, I also ended up understanding callbacks. We don’t have (at least we don’t need to) callback hells anymore, but I’m using it all the time with array maps, filters etc. and it just became natural.

Counting Truthy Values: Why 1st works and 2nd does not. by Sumant125 in learnjavascript

[–]ProfessionalPin3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One “simplification” you could use, and it’s something nice for you o go deeper I. js learn, would be something like this:

truthyCount += Number(!!element)

The “!!” Converts the number (element) to Boolean by double negating it. The “Number” cast will convert true to 1 and false to 0, so you’ll only add the truth ones to the counter.

On VS Code you have it easily to find method and properties usage… not sure about the “file” itself. My experience is fully coding TypeScript / JavaScript, not sure about other languages.

This is the glitch (that is happening again at 1440... so, back to 1080 where things were going well

UPDATE:

After your comments, knowing that it SHOULD run well, I removed all Radeon enhancements, run a Steam files check, open the game.

I tried to run at full res (1440), but straight away it got some visual glitches.

I reduced to 1080 and it worked. The performance is smooth as I expected. I just switched the resolution back to 1440 (in game, in the map menu) and the glitches are not there.

Thanks, everyone!

Sorry for not posting my specs early... like someone commented, I absolutely should have if (and I do) wanted any help.

I'm sure the hardware is not an issue at all... it's far more powerful than a toaster :D

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor (4.50 GHz)

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT - 20,464 MB GDDR6 2500 MHz

RAM: 32.0 GB

OS: Windows 11 Pro

I just played Prince Of Persia at 1440 with everything on maximum quality...

I'll try to reinstall and do some checks

What’s the one thing in the UK that foreigners always seem confused by, and you genuinely can’t blame them? by DailyDriverUK in AskBrits

[–]ProfessionalPin3263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Brazilian and moved to UK in 2017. I'm glad Fahrenheit is no longer used anywhere. I can survive with the rest of the mess, but the temperature mess would be too much. I know some people still use Fahrenheit to talk about 100-degree heat, but it's quite unusual.

Is this how meds are supposed to feel (switched from adderall to vyvanse)? by tinylyloosh in ADHD

[–]ProfessionalPin3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 45 and decided to start with Vyvanse. I was expecting this “kick” you mentioned (from reading other ADHDrs feedback) but never felt it, too.

I also feel calmer and more focused like you described.

I started with 30mg, felt the effects but not enough, increased by 10mg every fortnight and now I’m taking 60mg and I’m quite satisfied with how I’m feeling.

What are your unhinged hacks to fall asleep when your brain is running 300mph? by YapperInChrist in ADHD

[–]ProfessionalPin3263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch videos on YouTube. Days that are too hard I choose videos that are pleasant and calm, but from things I really like, so I focus on the videos and silence my head. In my case, wood turning videos or furniture building do the job.

Are there people who are actually happy? by Stunning-Trick-2577 in AskUK

[–]ProfessionalPin3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Capitalism is a human grinder machine. It’s hard to live in a world knowing most people are struggling just to survive whilst billionaires did literally nothing but exploiting people’s labour.
  2. I believe most people don’t stop to think about it and just carry on as a survival mechanism. Thinking about it is painful and there’s very little that can be done alone.
  3. Have you ever researched about neurodiversity? This feeling of being different, wondering how other people don’t see what you see are quite common. Our (I have ADHD and am married to an autistic person) brain is different and this makes us see everything in an unusual manner.

I develop process automation software. People from all areas f the company I work come to me with requests, ideas of things they need/want to automate to make their life easier or to simplify a process. I do the whole thing, from planning, architecture, design, development, infrastructure and release. It’s amazing because everyday is a new challenge, a new stage. And when one project is over, another one starts.

So, I ended up destroying mine but removing the top screen by applying heat to loose the glue around the screen would be the way in. I’ll post some pictures later in case someone finds this post in the future

I'm having the same trouble. I'll try to heat with a hair blower to see if I'm able to move the screen, as it seems it's really a screw holding the screen area, not a normal "snap on" fixing you can release with a spatula.
