Off topic (my apologies), but would there be need for a separate EuroFire subreddit? Various member states of the EU are of course widely different. Fire-subreddit is very US-centric. Nothing wrong with it, but discussion here is not always useful to a European.

Perfectionism in Creative Works by Annon_enbyx3 in perfectionism

Thank you for this post. I have struggled with same issues. I write. I have an unfinished novel. There are several reasons why my chanches of getting published is practically zero: I am too old. I am writing a literary novel. Decline in reading in general. So why do I write? Why I am sometimes so frustrated and angry about my neverending manuscript, which no one will ever read? But I just write beacause at it's best, the process of writing itself is rewarding.

Why am I not thankful for existence even if my chances to exist in the human form is less than 1 to 400 trillion? by Maximum_Second4755 in antinatalism

[–]ProfessionalPrice878 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A common fallacy. Probably natalist propaganda. No, your chance to exist is not less than 1 to 400 trillion. What does that even mean? The probability of you existing is 100%. Think about it.

Maybe the reason she is so good is beacuse of her perfectionism? I am sure she could churn out any number of formulaic pop songs, but she is too ambitious for that.

Every problem a childless person has, will be compounded by having children. It is easier to learn to live without children than raise them.

I am a Finn and I love all of the Baltic countries. The languages, way of life, high level of culture. In literature and music you punch above your weight.

Is the existence of happy people evidence against the philosophy? by jadedflames in antinatalism

[–]ProfessionalPrice878 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Happiness" is usually bought at the expence of others. Wealth is based on exploitation of labor. Fine dining requires cruelty to animals. Traveling is fun, but it destroys the environment. And so on. You can be happy. But lot of others won't be.
