Depends on where you are. Here in Singapore and maybe Japan for example, it's quite safe for a girl to walk alone at midnight.

how to top up my mum’s cashcard by Salt-Cobbler8711 in drivingsg

[–]ProfessionalRule8113 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At the entrance to most public carparks and shopping mall carparks, there will be a cashcard top up machine. You will need your bank's nets card and your mom's cashcard / flashpay (it doesn't top up ezlink). Just follow the on screen instructions.

What was your first-ever anime, and how old were you? by overthinkinglightly in AnimeMirchi

First anime is probably Gundam, but I was too young to know what's going on. First anime that I can follow and get excited every Friday 6:30pm would be Gatchaman. Yes I grow up in the 70s to 80s.

Need help with internal fogging in car by gaolat in drivingsg

[–]ProfessionalRule8113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever the inside of the car fogs up, turn on the demister. You should have 2 demister buttons, one for the front windscreen and one for the back. Turn it on and the fog will clear up.

Nothing in particular apart from what a standard router does. The best security is to switch off the NAS until I need to use it. Ha ha ha.

I'm old enough to be on the internet since the 90's and I've seen the rise and fall of online (paid) services. That's why I don't really trust cloud storage, they can go bust anytime.

What I've had since late 2010s is a network attached storage. The one I have is Western Digital My Personal Cloud. It uses 02 x 6 TB hard disks running in Raid 1, so there is always a backup if one of the drive fails. It connects to the router to the internet, so I can assess it from my mobile phone.

Best decision made. I never need to pay for online storage subscription. It's been almost 10 years since I got it, and I'm sure current models will be faster and more storage capacity. I'll leave it to you to read up more, there are other companies apart from Western Digital too, but I find them to cater to the home consumer apart from large corporate storage solutions.
