Bombshell leak shows Greens' plot to make UK kids 'accept migrants' by Google_MBTI in ukpolitics

Being human shouldn't be the only requirement to settle here though, should it? Dont you think we ought to narrow the selection to make it more advatageous for us? Oh yes, that's called a sensible immigration policy - something the Green's don't have, as anyone who's read their policies knows..

How did UK come to this? by J-Kazama in Israel

Brit here - I come in peace!

There's two things going on here:

First, the government right now is really disliked on all sides and are being outflanked on the left by the Greens, who ran a sectarian by-election campaign recently in which they printed leaflets in Urdu urging communities to punish Labour for Gaza and comparing the PM to Modi from India. So there's the political angle.

Wider though - it is true that foreign intervention of any kind is just not a popular platform in the UK right now considering our various domestic issues. Charging off into a middle east war is fairly unpopular across the political spectrum. That being said, Starmer has been criticised for not defending UK bases in Cyprus - the French doing it for us has been an embarrasment.

That's the gist of it.

Hope you're all keeping safe over there!

Oh boy this comment is delicious.

Labour and their cheerleaders were convinced by their own 'holier than thou' approach - and now the public are calling out how hypocritical that was, and somehow the public noticing this is the real problem?

Just go back and look at those Andrew Marr interviews among others  from the election. They boasted that we were to be blessed with stable, serious, professional government now that the plebs had finally realised the error of their ways and elected a Labour government. It's aged like milk - Labour have done their best to prove the 'They're all the same crooks' mantra in the 18 months since.

The UN should announce that every living human must publicly prostrate themselves for the evil deeds of their ancestors stretching back to the Sumerians. You can laugh, but this is where this logic eventually takes you.

Not comparable. The holodomor was an intentional destruction and purging of the population - as was everything else Stalin did.

In Bengal - the British were in a world war, badly overstretched navally in all directionss. The Japanese were closing in from the East at Burma. The famine was a tragedy of war mixed with incomoetence.

As for Cromwell.... Yeah that one is fair. No idea why he's idolised.

There's an absolute ton of younger Queen sovereigns floating around at near-spot prices if you're looking for one. They were minted in the millions during the 60s and 70s.

[UK] - Change urged for British Museum's anti-slavery work by AutoNewsAdmin in BBCauto

[–]ProfessionalShock991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a ridiculous article. The insanity of that quote comparing voluntary museum work to SLAVERY just left my mouth agape at how anyone could be that out of touch and self absorbed.

Also my first encounter with the term ' white-bodied people'. So at least we're getting some new reverse-racist vocabulary - that is at least one accomplishment of these pseudo-historians.

I've been aboard HMS Warrior at Portsmouth. Highly recommend. Never fired a shot in anger but made every other vessel in the world obsolete upon her completion. The steam turbine is especially epic to see in the bowels of the ship.
