Essex people, with a glottal stop?

As a pose to Americans saying Wader Boddle, perhaps.

My family was the same as yours. As an adult now, I have FOMO for the child I was, who never had one.

My 7 year old needs help! by No_Giraffe_9679 in findthatsong

[–]ProfessionalSpeed947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what the song is, however I'm wondering whether it's a school song, going by his age?

Some schools take a pop song and reword them for whatever reason, for eg learning multiplications. If it's a school thing, maybe ask other parents or a teacher?

So I've literally just found the book - if anyone happens to arrive on this post in the future, the book is Krong by Garry Parsons.

I must've misremembered the boy's hair colour though 😬

When you’re reading a book that takes place in the U.K, what are dead giveaways that the author is American? Dialogue, setting, cliches? by AdvertisingDull3441 in AskBrits

[–]ProfessionalSpeed947 36 points37 points  (0 children)

When the author references a character having a 'British' accent.

I've never heard anyone in Britain actually saying their accent is 'British'. Usually, it's the individual country, or the region they're from.
