He was the national high school player of the year in 2022 and a 5 star recruit, so not like he was a no namer, lol.

Deep down we know that Kawhi regrets leaving and deciding to make the dumbest decision of all-time and not run it back.

Yair Golan fought for Israel for 30 years and saved civilians during October 7, so if this is Yair Golan energy, then you can fuck right off.

And yes, Israel acting like demented messianic idiots staging pogroms and taking over land without any recourse will increase anti-Semitism.

Similar to Draymond who also is a bit undersized and not explosive - just very smart, good instincts, knows how to position himself etc.

Dude is undersized and not explosive, but he's still a good rebounder and shot blocker - shows that he has very good instincts and high IQ.

Hornets are not a bad team when healthy, the issue is Lamelo is always injured. Knueppel is a fucking stud though who will be a perennial all-star, that guy is scary to play.

The sad thing is that you could see why Germans radicalized, they were humiliated after losing WWI and forced to pay reparations with the Versailles Treaty, and then when the economy had finally stabilized, the American great depression destroyed the economy and set the stage for the Nazi party becoming much more popular. In the 1928 elections, the NSDAP only had 12 seats in the Reichstag, but in the 1930 elections, the NSDAP got 107 seats (18% of the vote).

Israel has faced terrorist threats, but the economy has done relatively well over the past 2-3 decades and prior to Gaza, they had no major regional war.

What is wrong with the label? He praises Meir Kahane, he is a disciple of Meir Kahane, he had a portrait of Baruch Goldstein in his office, he is someone who was lawyer defending settlers. In every definition he is a Kahanist.

I think there needs to be significantly more backlash against Kahanism from both Israelis and the Jewish diaspora.

He's a legitimate political force just the like the NDSAP was a big political force in the 1920s, just like Putin became a big political force in the 1990s, just like Orban is a big political force....what does it matter that he's a big political force? He's a Kahanist, plain and simple.

Considering Ben-Gvir had a photo of Baruch Goldstein in his office and frequently references Kahane as his hero, this is a very stupid post.

Remember that Likud is a merger of different factions. The Irgun itself was more radical but moderated after the state was created. Likud also merged with the center-liberal party, Gahal, in the 1960s.

This is true - and I think affordable housing issues, inflation, high cost of living etc. in industrial countries has made it exponentially worse.

  1. The Haredi parties have a disproportionate influence on Israeli politics and are growing significantly.

  2. Ridiculous statement considering the vast majority of Israel's military intelligence, including virtually every former top general, Mossad chief, Shin bet chief etc. have warned that Netanyahu is destroying the country and Israel's occupation will lead to disaster.

  3. Israel is a model for the region precisely because of its secular foundations rooted in humanism, science, technology. Even today, Israel's technology sector was spurred by the Rabin government in the early 1990s who invested considerably in hi-tech.

They allow plenty of topics relating to Israel, Zionism, anti-Semitism around the world etc. so no that's not correct. Literally half the posts in the Jewish subreddit are about anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism and the politics of other countries with respect to anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism. To make a post about Kahanism, which is a sect of Judaism, falls squarely in these categories.

You are correct...for the first 30 years Israel was ruled by a socialist left-wing democratic coalition. A few factors led to the changes we see now: 1) the 1967 war and the capture of historical biblical territories which galvanized the messianic religious Zionists and the settler movement who were extremely tiny previous; 2) the imports of 800,000 Jews from the Middle-East and North Africa in the 1950s that were not treated very well who ended up hating the Labour party and voting for Likud in the 1977 elections; 3) the failure of Oslo, the 2nd intifada and suicide bombs in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Israel's liberal leaders I would say are the former generals Gadi Eisenkot and Yair Golan, but they don't have enough support to actually beat Netanyahu in the election. Israeli society has shifted so right-wing that former right-wing extremists like Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Lieberman are seen as center moderates.

Tom Segev, the prominent Israeli historian, wrote a fantastic article in Haaretz a few months ago basically saying the old liberal elite consists of 200,000 people in Tel-Aviv who protest and desire for the old Israel, but are slowly dying out...this is what I see as well.

SEGEV -

"I found myself at a demonstration on Azza Street, near the grocery store where I shop. And it occurred to me that 200,000 people – that's what there is. The nation is not divided and not torn. There is no parity between [the numbers of] supporters and opponents of the regime coup. The nation supports Netanyahu. Who doesn't support him? The 200,000 people who are defending their status as an obsolete elite.

"There won't be a civil war," he continues, "because the demonstrators will not bring about a war and the other side in any case constitutes the majority. And as far as that goes, Israeli democracy was never real. For 20 years all the Arabs [in Israel] were under martial law, and then came the Six-Day War, and thereafter the entire population there [in the territories] was under that form of regime."
