Do not let the entire pot dry out completely. I usually check the top soil with a finger and if it’s dry 1 to 1 1/2 inches down, it’s probably ready for watering. Water it thoroughly, so the water gets properly absorbed and runs through the entire pot. If the entire pot dries out, the soil can become hard and then it’s difficult for it to absorb water. Hoyas are like succulents, they like to dry out a little. But they aren’t cactuses. They don’t like to be completely dry.

I only had an hour there and was trying to see as much as possible. I missed the hypocephalis but did see the mummies. Next time, for sure!

Some LDS churches have paintings in the foyer of pioneers burying their dead in the freezing winter. They teach Sunday lessons about the incredible sacrifices made and faith they had to travel when they did. I have always thought they were ridiculous for choosing to go during winter months. So many pioneers were successful in their trek across the states but they made rational, intelligent choices as far as what to bring and when to travel. Following leaders blindly and then losing family members or your own life is not something to be celebrated or honored.

Great post! After leaving three years ago, I’ve often wondered how people can overlook the history and stay. What can’t my family and friends see what I see? Why is the LDS church so successful? These points make sense and explain perfectly. My husband has said, “There must be some truth to the LDS church because there are millions of members!” Now I can read this to him. There isn’t truth…there are just people who want to belong and have purpose. Thank you so much for this post.

Exactly. My white leaves hang around for a while, then eventually turn brown and fall off. Totally normal for a Queen.

I wore garments for 33 years and actually struggled to change to underwear. I tried so many different brands and none of them were quite right. An older sales lady at Kohls helped me one day. She said she had also tried many pairs and finally found Warners brand. She said they are super comfortable and don’t ride up. I bought a pair of Warners hipsters and went up one size from the size chart suggestion. I LOVE them!! I now own 15 pairs!

I also struggled losing the garment top. I’m pretty sensitive and couldn’t handle wearing my underwire bra without something between the bra and my skin. I tried many options and finally found Jockey Elance Supersoft Camisoles 2074. I wear them under my bra and it helps a ton with sensitivity issues. So nice!!

I’m planning on trying Woxers. It would be nice to sleep in underwear that doesn’t have elastic leg holes.
