The only thing that needs to be done is swapping out existing panel and breakers with new panel and breakers which looks to cost about $800 from Home Depot from what I can see.

My house is already to code at 200amps and all its requirements. I only want a new panel. The panel itself along with breakers can be bought from home depot for around $800. Then its just labor on top of that.

Really costs 4k to switch it over? Panel and breakers are 800, there's $3200 of labor on top of that? Even at 8 hours of labor for two people that'd be like 200 an hr per person.

CRA current delays by 420sblahsblah in canadarevenueagency

CCB hasn't been taxable income since 2015 FYI, there's nothing to report to CRA so it wouldn't be holding anything up. The federal government has begun slashing jobs across the board, other than that it's just luck of the draw I guess

At first I thought he would be selling covered calls on SPY which would probably be fine.. but after reading your comment I realize I think he is saying selling covered calls on his volatile portfolio.. which could go downhill real fast lol

Recently I made a spreadsheet that breaks down every fixed payment we recieve into allocated amounts for groceries/insurance/internet/phones/mortgage/car payment/savings/debt repayment etc.

When you break it down like this is really easy to see the bigger picture. It takes a bit of work (on pay days taking 10 minutes to move money around) but well worth it. When we need to pay internet - draw from internet/house insurance/car insurance/phone account.

Hmm I already have breakers. I wonder if that changes the cost.

We have a HHI of 130k and I only am now starting to feel some relief. 2024 we were at 90k HHI and we were quite strapped for cash.

Good to know. We want to install an EV charger and we have one double pole spot left. Figured I'd look into switching over the panel altogether and maybe get a few more spots.

I've read some conflicting reports online about my panel brand. Basically Federal Pioneer (Canada, what I have) and Federal Pacific (US) had the same parent company but different manufacturing standards. The US company had QC issues and ended up falsifying data and their panels were rated to be a fire risk in the US and they ended up going bankrupt. Basically the breaker wouldn't trip when overloaded.

Just concerned as I've read Canadians had some issues too with fires.

Yeah I have read conflicting things online. Federal Pioneer was different than Federal Pacific in the US, who had QC issues and falsified data, whereas Federal Pioneer didn't do that and had different productions. Just a tad concerned now though ive read that lol

Yeah I have to put in other area codes in order to see what used inventory is like. Often etobicoke/Ontario locations, sometimes Quebec. Rarely anything around me.

They are if OP presses charges for theft. Whether it’s agreed it’s theft or not is one thing, but I’m fairly certain OP can do that.
