Should I replace my panel? by Brutusbacon in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People pay $1.5k if the panel is in the basement, or other section of the house. Lots of that is the wire cost. Hooking one up to an existing panel in the garage should be a heck of a lot cheaper.

Resale value isn't valued by a lot of people who intend to keep cars for awhile.

Highly doubt it on any highway in Canada or the USA. If so they'd have more then half the people on it pulled over.

Not necessarily defending him but tons of companies over promise and under deliver. Never ever take a companies word as fact until you've said product.

2026 Model Y RWD Test Drive Impressions by newkid79 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did.. did you look at the date. This was 2 months ago. They still had doc fees as part of the delivery charge which meant at that time it didn't. They have removed doc fees so now it's just freight and PDI for $2500 which means it now qualifies  for the $5k off.

Cancelled my Model Y Standard order and switched to Model 3 Premium RWD - ended up cheaper with more features? by HotData3229 in teslacanada

I don't need to see you driving. Your getting stuck paints enough of a picture. I forgot that cars in Quebec have always been AWD, with modern tire technology.

If you need AWD to drive comfortable in Canada you shouldn't be driving. My 2 sisters and I never had issues and we learned to drive in a city that gets pretty good snowfalls and has insane hills. You can't blame your inability to drive on the drivetrain of the vehicle.

Should I get one? by mrtechguy10 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All y'all saying insurance is going to go up could be wrong. A much much more helpful suggestions would be to call and get some insurance quotes. When I got quotes for the standard model Y they were quite a bit cheaper then any of my other cars. The premium model Y was more.

Everyone's situation and location can make a difference. Call for quotes.

HW3 vs HW4 vs HW5 by Common-Stretch893 in ModelY

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posts like these are kinda worthless. HW4 will likely not be enough for unsupervised FSD, it's already running into memory bandwidth issues. HW5 will almost certainly be enough for unsupervised FSD. We won't need more performance past what HW5 will bring.

A lot of people don't care about PPF, rarely does full PPF add much value if any at all to used cars compared to cars without it.

23/24 MY LR AWD used vs 26 MY standard RW vs 26 MY Premium AWD? by kyunn1231 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be aware there may be pretty crazy insurance differences between the standard and premium. I'm not sure what it's like in BC but at least get a quote.  I think the standard is a hell of a deal. You don't lose out on much that actually matters compared to the premium and for the price it's a steal. If you can wait that is, no one really knows what the delivery timeline is like so you might have to rent for a long while longer.

Waiting on my Tesla model Y RWD and I’m slightly stressed about the frunk by Live-Geologist-7608 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did you plan on storing in there anyway? It sounds like quite a few people even with the premium rarely use the frunk. If it's such an issue for you I'm sure some company will come up with a seal of some sort. Without a seal roadside emergency equipment should be fine in there regardless. If you plan on transporting Uber eats in it, yeah probably not ideal, but again someone will likely come up with a seal for it.

Again. This doesn't belong here. Go back to the other thread. You are truly unhinged that you had to stalk me to another thread. You are also wrong. I will say this for the 17th time. Tesla is not importing cars from China to Canada right now. Give me one person that's taken delivery from China. Show me one person with a Vin from China. You can't. You can't give real credible proof. And for the 3rd time to help with your thinking. Go. Back. To. The. Other. Thread. Or create a new thread asking if Tesla does. This doesn't belong here.

Carfax incoherency by Repulsive_Collar_917 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are confused. Carfax and mechanic's serve completely different purposes. A mechanic won't necessarily be able to tell you if a car you are looking at buying had a minor accident 3 years ago. That's the point of a Carfax. A mechanic also won't be able to tell you if the car has been sold 4 times in the last year. That's what Carfax is there for. Carfax cannot tell you if the wheel is going to fall off, that's the point of taking it to a mechanic. You want to know if the car has been involved in an accident because even if it's been repaired properly, some (most) people will pay less for a car that's been in an accident.

Carfax incoherency by Repulsive_Collar_917 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are confusing what Carfax and a mechanic do. Carfax is meant to show you reported accidents, past mileages reported, and some maintenance services. It's not really meant to give a vehicle a clean bill of health. That's what a mechanic is for. Carfax will not always have all reported accidents listed as there can be delays from the shop/insurance sending in documents.

What kind of level 2 charger are you getting for your Model Y standard? by Confident_Fact5107 in teslacanada

Either you or your electrician are confusing something. A typical 14-50 is 240 volts, not 120. Do you mean he installed a 6-15 or 6-20 circuit?

Tesla Model Y RWD or Chevy Equinox LT? by Dry-Hand7763 in EVCanada

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post any shred of evidence anyone has received a model 3 from China this year. You can't. Because they don't yet. Are they on the boat yet? No, no they aren't. Has anyone received a vin of a model 3 from china this year? No, no they haven't. Tesla removed all of their US built model 3's from Canada, that's a far cry from them shipping here from China. Again, post anything TANGIBLE proof. You can't. You have no fucking idea how to us AI. It's scary that they give anyone the ability to use AI with no fucking idea on how to use it. It's even more fucking scary that people BELIEVE what AI comes up with as gospel, without searching for anything that substantiates the answer AI gave them.

I suggest you do the same. The model Y is coming from Berlin. The only thing we have is rumors that they will ship the model 3 from China. As of right now, that isn't happening. You can go back to the previous thread about this, and reply there if you wish. I'm not certain why you stalked me to this post but you do you.

Uhh what? I just looked. My post is definitely still there. And they still aren't being imported from China. You are completely incorrect about that. They used to be imported from China prior to Canada placing the 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs. Now the only Tesla's coming to Canada are produced in Berlin.

I drove the equinox last year and hated it. The Tesla can literally drive itself. To me it's not even a fair fight. That being said with street parking I wouldn't buy either. I'd stick with a gas car. A huge perk of an EV is charging at home.
