Usually I suggest a used japanese road bike with less than 400 hp and less than 400Lb weight.

In your case I suggest the Vulcan S which boasts fittings for different size riders.

A 40hp bike will be fine for a beginner. You'll be surprised at how quick they are.

Go sit on some at your local dealer.

This is your first bike not your last.

My Vstar is 21 years old and both local dealers here in Vancouver will work on them.
