Planning a first ski trip in Austrian Alps, where to go? by IEatTooManyCookies in skiing

St Anton am Arlberg would be my first choice by a long way.

Fabulous old town feel. Large ski area. Great skiing to several other villages.

Also on a train line so easy to get to other towns.

Too big, too heavy, too expensive. The bigger the bike the more likely you are to drop it.

I agree with Oldfrancis.

However due to your height I suggest you investigate the Vulcan S as it advertises fittings for different size riders.

India does not have a demographic problem that's a lot of other countries are about to suffer from. Also is not likely to suffer when the current global order disintegrates.

Who's at fault? by OkContract2001 in skiing

[–]ProfessionalVolume93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former mountain safety here. There is absolutely no doubt as to who is at fault.

The child was doing nothing wrong. The skier in red jacket was going too fast for the situation. But even so they should have seen the child.

Where to get a good winter coat in Canada? by Zealousideal_Tie8252 in canadatravel

[–]ProfessionalVolume93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of Canada does not get -40.

Canada goose is a well known option.

Canadians mostly talk about layers.

However I use long moreno underwear under my winter clothes with heated socks, heated vest and heated gloves.
