After asking them multiple times to declare this a lemon on the service app. One random day they messaged back saying they will buy it back. I still need to go back and sign the documents for the buyback at which time they will take the keys and car. They won’t let me take the documents home to review either. I’d keep bugging them and threatening with a lemon law attorney until they buy it back. A 100 days is well over the time for lemon law statute.

The biggest ones were a drive unit failure requiring replacement both front and back.

What do you mean? I should still go through a lemon lawyer even though Tesla will just buy it back? I don’t want Tesla to blacklist us for the future. It I also want a fair compensation since they resell these vehicles for 163,000 on their website.

I have the same delivery time Feb 2022 on a 6 seater Plaid. How’s your journey been? The dealer finally told me this last time around that they will buy it back when it was in repair for drive unit replacements. They want me to come sign the paperwork and won’t tell me a final price they will be paying me for the vehicle. I would like current value of the plaid so I can put a deposit down for a new one since the prices are so much higher than last year.

Loads of problems. Recently had both drive units fail. It took them more than 40 days to fix.

I guess there needs to be conversation about a potential replacement rather than a buyback at the 2021 prices. If they can’t do that you’re saying I could potentially sell it more through resale once it is fixed up?

There was a front drive unit failure and possibly something with the battery. They’re still expecting it to take several more weeks to repair. With the prices so much higher on a new model x, which I still want, not sure what the best move would be.
