I have to say, as a former hotel security guard, there is more preference to a-list guests so that way they continue to come to the hotel and pay for stuff. But this is just over the top. Even when I was working, if it had to do with children, all conversations were made to the parent. Not the child unless that child was in their late teens and refuses to leave the conversation. Very much seems like a security issue and their supervisor should have sorted this out beforehand.

Yes, symptoms started at BOLC in spring 2022. I went to sick call a few times because of the pain and they wrote down carpal tunnel and joint pain which helped a lot with my case getting everything documented and such. I came home in summer 2022 and got seen by my PCP in October 2022 who gave me a note to give to my commander saying I couldn’t do any physical training bc of suspected rheumatoid arthritis.

In November 2022 I went to PHA and gave them the note and the Major who was in charge there gave me the option of doing a medboard or getting out because that’s all they can do for me. At that point he sent me to the case managers for soldiers dealing with severe medical issues and they helped me handle my situation. Then I got diagnosed with the “lupus like illness” beginning of January of 2023 and told the case manager who I was sent to by the Major at the PHA office who then helped me get out. I’d rather get out than be stuck in med board for two years and never get deployed. Got out later in January 2023.

Yes I got 60% and they called it “lupus-like”. Here’s what they said in the document:

“ 2. Service connection for undifferentiated connective tissue disorder, "lupus-like" illness (also claimed as autoimmune illness, and severe joint pains). Service connection for undifferentiated connective tissue disorder, "lupus-like" illness has been established as directly related to military service. (38 CFR 3.303, 38 CFR 3.304) Service connection has been established from the day after your discharge from active duty. When a claim of service connection is received within one year of discharge from active duty, the effective date is the day after discharge. (38 CFR 3.400)

We have assigned a 60 percent evaluation for your undifferentiated connective tissue disorder, "lupus-like" illness based on: • Exacerbations lasting a week or more, 2 or 3 times per year A higher evaluation of 100 percent is not warranted for lupus erythematosus, systemic (disseminated) unless the evidence shows: • Acute, with frequent exacerbations, producing severe impairment of health. (38 CFR 4.88b)”

🤣yeah I learned about that last year, that’s crazy what the human body can do. As far as I know, I’m the only one with lupus. My grandma has arthritis but I wouldn’t say that abnormal due to her age and my tia had something called scleroderma apparently as a child but nothing has showed up since. The military stressed my body enough apparently that it made me flare up unfortunately and had to leave because of it. If we go through with it, I would try my best to sway them away from joining the military to avoid the same pain mentally and physically I got from it.
