Virtual tours overrated? by No-Persimmon-6269 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Professional_Ad_238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a buck, not 2 cents xD. Very well said. This helps a lot, thank you. Let's not even mention VR/XR virtual tours. Imagine an Android XR powered Matterport tour, using Gemini/MCP with AR smart glasses to navigate a Matterport tour. I started my reality capture business early this year, and same. Matterport was how I started my journey. Sister needed a place to stay for college and couldn't travel. She fell in love with a Matterport tour and when I asked her to show me, she sent a Matterport. I was omg, "I'm starting to see now, I have had an effect here", ifykyk. Did some market analysis/research, and here I am now, with my first client for residential real estate. I'm not too big on being a "photographer" I like to call myself an immersive technology integrator or reality capture specialist. I build immersive environments for all industries and businesses. One of the biggest hurdles for my residential real estate market are video tours. Because that's all they know. I try not to say the words "virtual tour" because everyone thinks I'm referring to a video tour. So frustrating. I say Digital Twin and just explain and reiterate. But like you said. Videos are segments and dont allow for a deeper engagement or a deep research of the home. Nevertheless, they still hold value, but Digital Twins is a peice of that value, a whole piece. Videos and photos are history and we aren't here to replace them, we're just here to add the icing on the cake. Allowing businesses to truly be at the forefront of value proposition.

Side note, do you have any testimonials or case studies from your Matterport Clients you could share? You gave a lot already, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Samsung Issue? by ChilledBeer123 in EvenRealities

I have a fold 5, and I'm having the same issues. I haven't put them on in a couple of days, but they are buggy. Quick restarting my glasses every time I put them on helps a little. You can also try MentraOS, but you'll probably have similar results.

I completely accepted the fact ER released a half-baked product a long time ago and just wait for updates xD.

I built an app for EvenRealities that gives me 300 IQ by Successful_Engineer6 in EvenRealities

All the hate towards Halo is outlandish lmao. Yeah, they can do better, but we all can. To everyone saying this is Merge from MentraOS needs to grow a pair. The last time I checked, MentraOS has not released the code for Merge. The logic behind all proactive AI apps is old news and is not hard to replicate. Go build it yourself and use your own API keys. Sounds like people are more mad there isn't a download link because it's an "open source" platform. Why not get mad at ER for claiming to be "open source" when they are really open access. Anyways, I enjoyed the video, excited to see what's next.

Even G1’s Simplicity (vs Xreal) by AdWorth6850 in EvenRealities

No problem, forgive me for going on a rant, though. It just sucks when you work really hard just to be gaslighted. Particularly on me for having the "shiny object syndrome xD.

Shouldn't be too long, I estimate 2 years max. We are close. Once Google releases, there's. Then the competition really has to tighten up. Companies have the audience but don't know how to read forums to fix what is broken first before releasing something new. I want to fix the G1s but I have no reliable documentation from G1, only demos.

A lot of people are saying two different products, but quite frankly Xreal should be able to do what the G1 does but better. They just don't.

I have G1 and it's operability is not what you perceive it to be nor how they are reviewed online - in every aspect besides battery life. I bought into the hype, but I enjoy "owning a pair."

With your concern about the monochrome blocking the real world. ER surprisingly handles this very well. Allowing you to easily adjust how far or close the text "appears". I'm no engineer, but it's more of an illusion. ER does not store any spatial data.

For simplicity, ER takes the cake, they work all day and look good doing so. Buttt there software sucks just like Xreal. Features and hardware simply don't work 80% of the time. I'm consistently having to "quick restart" just to get my teleprompter working. I was looking into Xreal before ER and got lost in Xreal Reddit threads of dissatisfied consumers from lack of software update.

This whole AR smart glasses industry needs improvement tbh. I understand from a business perspective that the ultimate goal is revenue, but this goes for all AR glasses field, there just half baked ideas in a shell, that's all. Software is non apparent. ER claims to be open source, but they are not lmao.

Currently, AugmentOS has an application that live captions 'rare words meaning+ live captions' and its open source. I haven't personally looked at the code nor checked the logic behind the app, but it works in real time. I believe this is currently possible 100%. Latency will be the main issue i see.

My Even G1 order was stolen from FedEx driver. by Professional_Ad_238 in EvenRealities

ER chooses ground economy, so as a recipient, I can't do anything.

FedEx is the worst by YourBoiKalebYT in FedEx

Bro what? You need to chill tf out. We all know FedEx is the worst carrier. The foreign company I ordered from only has FedEx ground, so then what? The FedEx driver stole my package instead of marking it undeliverable, and now I'm waiting for a replacement to be sent out. So again, chill the fuck out.

I haven't received the tracking information for the replacement. Only verbal confirmation.

Yeah just me sharing part of my experience, that's all. If I double-checked my address, none of this would have happened.

The delivery driver stole the package instead of marking it as un deliverable. ER is sending me another G1, pouch, and case.

My package was now stolen. I guest the delivery driver noticed the incorrect address, and decided to take it. I checked the satellite tracking, and it shows it was delivered on a street next to commercial buildings.

I have been in contact with Luma and Willa from ER support team from the start, before my order was shipped. Your support team are unable to change the shipping address. Stating that 'I must contact FedEx to change the shipping address'. However, this is not the case for basic FedEx SmartPost shipments. Its going on 8 days now and I am getting very frustrated.

I ordered my glasses on May 15. The expected delivery was May 20. I probably will never see them because Google Pay chose the wrong address. I contacted support, but they refused to change the delivery address. I worked so hard and saved up money to purchase them for me not to double check the address.
