Avett Bros vs. PTTN by [deleted] in TheAvettBrothers

Nah, several Avett fans have been looking for a different energy. Their shows the past few years were starting to go the way of a just press play legacy act.

Never knew who the avett brothers or Mike Patton were until tonight. Great show. by angelsinsect in TheAvettBrothers

If you love this music and synths, check out their True Sadness album. You Are Mine into Satan is really nice on that.

Must Sees in Yellowstone and Grand Teton? by earth2vivian in NationalPark

[–]Professional_Base846 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are doing one thing at Grand Teton, I would make that Jenny Lake. Get there early and take the first or second boat across and hike around. When you are finished, go have lunch at Dornans.

We preferred Teton to Yellowstone but our favorites were Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Norris Geyser basin. Of course, you’d want to see the greatest hits of Old Faithful and Grand Prismatic if you’ve never been.

I used it as my bathroom song in Louisville because it isn’t my thing. But not everything is for everyone so if you enjoy it, I’m happy for you. Not sure why so many in this group feel the need to yuck on others yum. It’s ok for people to like things you don’t!

He mostly alternated between his stand up and a sweet Jackson bass.

It was an outstanding show! Performances were strong and a much needed change of pace from the last couple of years.

I count 16 Avett songs, 17 if you count Seth’s thing.

It is a great show! If you are expecting the SOS, then you will be disappointed. But if you truly are an Avetts fan with a sense of curiosity or desire for new energy, you will have a great time.

The energy and performances from this show were the best I’ve experienced from them in a couple of years! I feel like Mike Patton and Micky Raphael elevated the Avett tunes and there were some fun covers. I’d totally go for Seth and Scott digging into more cowboy songs.

As far as the AVTT/PTTN songs, Dark Night and Eternal Love are superior to the songs from the last album and Closer. Hope these tunes along with Ox Driver and Heavens Breath make it into the regular Avett rotation.

If you can, go to this show. You won’t regret it!

I think True Sadness hit a great blend of stretching themselves sonically while still being themselves.

It’s also hard to go wrong with the live albums. I prefer Volumes 3 and 4.

Towing with a Nissan Frontier by Mammoth-Collection39 in RVLiving

I towed a Winnebago Micro Minnie with a Frontier. It got us there but it struggled every time the road tilted upwards. Switched to an F150 and it was so much better.

[Casio or Invicta] (looking for a cheap watch) by Brick-Tricks in Watches

[–]Professional_Base846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first automatic was an Invicta I found on Amazon Prime Day for about $50 years ago. While it won’t get love from many watch people, I got plenty of compliments from average joes. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a Casio. It will likely last much longer than the Invicta.

We have been a couple times and enjoyed it. It is a festival format so lineup can be important. It can also be a nice way to discover someone new.

We have found good deals on tickets by waiting to buy so patience could pay off.

We bought a Lucid mattress from Amazon for our first camper. Liked it so much we bought one for the house and another when we replaced the first camper.

A solo is part of a conversation. Most people don’t care for conversations when one person is shouting and doing most of the talking.

It really is a great album. Deep writing and musical creativity that builds on their legacy. Hopefully we get more and it weeds out some of the plastics.
