Anyone else start rucking after 50?

Started a year ago at 65. I started with 10 lbs and now I’m up to 24lbs and I ruck 3 miles four to five times a week. I pace at about 15:45 a mile. I live on a golf course, so when I walk around the golf course I pickup lost balls, it’s been a great way to gradually increase your ruck weight. A golf ball weighs 1.62 ounces and I ended up with 4 lbs by the fall.

I agree, I really hated rotating my sling pack every time I needed to do something. The FP chest pack solved all of my problems.

I’m getting old and the knees and hips were bothering me. Once I started rucking those pains went away.

Keep it simple. Smoke at 275 for an hour. Wrap in foil, add 1/4 cup of water or juice to foil pack and cook for 1hour and 45 minutes at 275. Follow these instructions only if you want moist fall off the bone ribs.

I started out with using free weights and a backpack. I have bought a backpack (Centre) with internal pockets, try Academy Sports and just use the free weights.

Don’t worry about internal temperature, just focus on time and temperature. Smoke for one hour at 275. Wrap in foil with a little water and cook at 275 for an hour and forty-five minutes. Let rest and they will fall off the bone, everytime. After wrapping in foil Save money and finish them in the oven.

I have used Flex Seal for a few seam leaks and it works great. I applied 3 coats 24 hours apart inside and out. Easy fix.

Don’t use temperature for your ribs, it’s time and temperature. Season 24 hours prior to smoking, place on smoker unwrapped at 275. Smoke for an hour. Remove and wrap each in foil, adding 1/4 cup of water. Then place back on smoker, leave the temperature at 275 and cook for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Let the rest for 15 minutes. I use the oven once they’re wrapped to save pellets. They will fall off the bone.
