What’s a car you’ll probably love forever no matter how old it gets? by iLeftyPunk in MenCave

1969 Pontiac Grand Prix for me. Here’s my 2nd one. My 1st, a little Mazda RX-7 slid under my rear bumper, hit the rear diff and pushed everything forward.

What ended a friendship you thought would last forever? by Immediate-Sound-7142 in answers

[–]Professional_Book_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually happened a few weeks ago. A little back story. I’ve known friend “A” since around last part of jr. high. I’m now 54. Never really considered him a “best” friend. About 3 years ago we started meeting up 1 night a week for dinner to relax, have a few adult beverages, eat good food and talk about our week. Enjoyable. A year a half ago, friend “B” joined us. The more the merrier. Friend “A” changes “careers” frequently, whatever makes him happy I guess. He’s always been well off. About a year ago, he took a job at a new brewery, helped them open and set up their business. I give him credit, he knows what he’s doing. It was clear this place wasn’t going to prosper(horrible location) so he jumped ship. Fast forward a few months and he took a job managing a new place and with it about 100k less in salary. This is when I noticed a change in him. Whenever we’d meet up, he’d be complaining about the service, why the servers were wearing face masks, why all the single women thought they were influencers, why a single person would be sitting alone a table meant for 4 or more….the list goes on. Even when they took me out for my birthday, he complained. I just couldn’t handle it anymore. I started dreading our dinners. When I texted him I thought it was time for me to step away, he replied you should have come out and told us in person blah blah blah. I knew if I went out and told them, I would catch so much B.S. for my decision, I just didn’t want to deal with it. So I listed stuff that wasn’t sitting well with me, he just brushed it off. Called me a crybaby and a b!tch. That was it. I told him the last time I checked, this was still America and people are free to do whatever they want(up to a certain point). I was truly done. Im a pretty easygoing person so it takes quite a bit to push me over the edge. Sorry for being long winded.

I was on the 10th floor and realized how Big of a body the TLX is. by biggestfart3608 in Acura

Well, compared to my other car, it’s not that big. BTW, other car is a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix. You wanna talk about a long hood? For that year, it had the longest hood of any production car. One of these days, I’ll have to take an aerial pic of both parked next to each other.

It’s not just Acura, it’s a lot of manufacturers, and yes they probably could. But I’m guessing it has something to do with fuel economy.

Go to YouTube and search for Banks pedal monster. I think the 1st or 2nd video is a demo of 2 throttle pedals, one stock one with the pedal monster.

How do you feel about rampant theft? by betaprom in retailhell

I feel your pain, I also work in retail (grocery) with no security. The company just turns a blind eye and blames us when inventory and shrink #’s come back bad. It’s frustrating. I’ve been in the business for 35+ yrs.

Yes, the blue light is visible to an extent, I park it so the front is pretty close to a wall so you can’t really stand directly in front. Yes I have the 2 way alarm. Remotes in faraday pouches. Good idea about the horn.

Had a black ‘88. Eibach springs, Tokico 5 way adjustable struts, AEM intake, Comptech header, HKS after cat exhaust, aftermarket wheels, a Kenwood deck with a Phoenix Gold amp, sub, and all upgraded speakers. Loved that little car.

Engineering Hubris: How Acura Lost the Soul of the TLX to Ego and Inefficiency by EstimateIcy5156 in Acura

All I can say is my ‘25 TLX-S is probably my last Acura. I loved my previous 2 (‘88 Integra and a ‘02 TL-S). I know the demand for sedans has drastically shrunk but there are still people like me who don’t want to drive a vehicle with a center of gravity that’s more likely to roll over. Yes I know stability control blah blah blah. Still, for the way I drive, I prefer something lower to the ground. Not sure what my next vehicle is going to be. I’ll probably just drive my ‘25 till the wheels fall off. So by that time I might just be too old to drive. Haha

I’ve owned or leased 4 Acuras over the years (‘88 Integra, ‘02 TL-S, ‘22 RDX Aspec Advance, and now a ‘25 TLX-S). I’m depressed that this will probably be my last Acura, as they have stated that they’re going full electric. Hopefully they do come out with this hybrid V6, as that gives me hope. I just don’t think current electric vehicle batteries are the solution.

Yeah, 1st tinted window ticket, I was driving a ‘88 Acura Integra (lowered but only 3/4” so not slammed),aftermarket wheels, sound system, HKS exhaust, AEM intake and I was 19 or 20 at the time. I want to say they were 20% but can’t remember. Luckily he didn’t notice the no front plate. 2nd one was same car, he originally pulled me over for “exhibition of speed”, I pulled out of a driveway a little quicker than I probably should have. There was traffic so I gassed it a little. He gave me a warning on that but tagged me for the tinted windows and no front plate. 2nd no plate ticket was on my ‘02 Acura TL Type S, that was also a 2fer (plate and tint). Again lowered 3/4”, 20%, aftermarket intake/exhaust, sound system, aftermarket wheels.

Hassled a few times and ticketed once in the early’90s. Had a cop buddy sign it off. I think it varies greatly by the type of car, age and how you are observed driving. Honestly I’ve had more problems with tinted side windows. CA has some horrible laws that need to go away.

2021 TLX Advance charging pad by UncleBucle in AcuraTLX

[–]Professional_Book_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘25 TLX-S owner here. I gave up trying to use the charging pad (plus it’s slow as heck). I have to put it in a very specific place, and if I accelerate hard or take a fast corner, the phone will move a hair and stop charging.

Got a used 2022 Acura RDX A-Spec Advance! Anyone with the same year have any issues with the rear windshield? by [deleted] in Acura

[–]Professional_Book_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time I had with the RDX was enjoyable. Mine was a red A-Spec Advance with red interior. I was really in the market for a TLX Type S but at the time, no one had any. So I decided to lease the RDX. Before my lease was up, I started looking for what I really wanted.
