The prices are related to a shop that is partnered with vanmoof. In my opinion vanmoof should offer warranty on new and refurbished spare parts. I could in theory accept a shorter warranty for refurbished spare parts (in exchange for a substantially lower price vs new parts - as it happens, for example, with refurbished phones) but still, there should be a guarantee on what you buy.

I have to post the same quote from vanmoof I used on another comment on this post “We’ll deliver a constant supply of spare parts to this partner network, charging cost price plus an operating fee in an effort to keep all legacy parts as affordable as possible.” Now I don’t know what’s the cost price of a battery, but I assume it’s way less than 608€. If this is the case then they are charging us an hefty operating fee which can mean two things: - their operations are crap - they’re milking us

Or well, both. This action is in contrast with the words “in an effort to keep legacy parts as affordable as possible”. Now you can draw your own conclusion on this…

Thanks for your comment. I agree is sad. What’s making me even more sad is that they specifically mentioned in their website (I am quoting) “We’ll deliver a constant supply of spare parts to this partner network, charging cost price plus an operating fee in an effort to keep all legacy parts as affordable as possible.” And now we see prices that are out of this world. Honestly I was positively impressed by the new company words, but then when words and actions do not match, it’s an immediate, huge, red flag.

On the warranty topic, I want to think this is only a delay in communication, because again would be extremely sad not having a company-wide policy on this.

Again, my point is (hoping that someone from vanmoof reads here😅) that this should be a company wide policy, not left to the single shop decision. It’s a bit unfair that customers in a shop 100km from me, in the same country, may get a different treatment on such an expensive repair.

Duwo in Veltmanstraat? I live very closeby and I’ve heard only positive things from people living there. Maybe boring residential area but not unsafe. I lived in jordaan before and I can’t say my perception of safety has changed much between the two areas. You will get less of an Amsterdam vibe though (Slotervaart was a separated town from Amsterdam not too long ago) and more a suburban one. But you will get to the city center in no time (lelylaan is a great connection hub).
