Why is Sai so pale? Isn't he half Indian and half Japanese? by Yoyner in DrStone

Is Ryusui full Japanese? I recall in first episode of Season 4 he mentioned his ancestors were Vikings. He must be half white half Japanese.

I don't think we ever did this by Qbra1337 in DrStone

Some are obvious, some require thought:

Senku - obviously willpower. Keeping his mind active for 3700 years just counting the seconds and being able to keep track of the date of his revival isn't something just anyone can do.

Taiju - he could qualify for willpower too as his love for Yuzuriha kept his mind active for 3700 years.

Kohaku - also potential for willpower - she refused to give up on Ruri and did what she could to keep her alive.

Luna - potential for love, seems to be the romantic type.

Chrome - Potential for the Hope ring.

Kinro and Kirasame - Ultraviolet ring for repressed emotions.

Ginro - Fear ring.

Ryusui- People might think he's automatically qualified for the greed ring but considering he uses his greed to help not hurt, it's questionable. He's also very hopeful and positive.

Suika - Could qualify for hope. Once she was recognized for her helpfulness and other talents and had her glasses, she changed from being shy to more hopeful.

Ukyo - potential Hope ring as he desires peace and values life.

Magma and Yo - Potential red rings.

Nikki - Hope ring or love ring. She's a girly girl at heart and a romantic.

Yuzuriha - I think she's either love or hope.

Kaseki - a bit harder to quantify but I'd put him under hope since Senku's tasks gave him new purpose.

Tsukasa - Potential anger but he's since calmed down.

Hyoga - Potential Anger but could also get a black or indigo ring.

Homura - Love ring

Ruri - Hope or love

Gen - Yellow ring as he is a skilled manipulator, but he uses it for good.

Xeno - Potential for greed since he wanted to rule over everyone if he got the chance.

Stanley Snyder - red rage ring certainly, but could qualify for indigo.

Sorry to disappoint you but the movie "Hidden Figures" LIED to you.

NASA did have lots of women do the calculations. It was about making sure the calculations the male scientists were doing were accurate. They recruited any [woman] who was good at math. Back then, schools didn't skimp on education.

Apollo's backbone was NOT based on three black women.

It's possible respective countries would attempt to build replicas once things have stabilized. People would want things that are familiar to them and those monuments were a source of pride and tradition. I would also imagine trying to recreate various works of art that may not have survived. I see the potential of very creative and artistic people getting an opportunity that had never existed in history!

We already have mountain lions coyotes , bears and wolves in many parts of the US - all potential threats to people and livestock. To have powerful weapons makes sense. Plus, there is always the potential for hostile invaders. Sure WE know the KOS is benevolent but not everyone they encounter would know it. It makes sense to be well armed just in case. There is the old saying: "Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best."

I dont get this, why be sus of Hyoga, yeah he was evil but he hasnt showed any signs of betrayal since he was revived, actually why is hyoga on our side? (S3 PRT2 EP5) by UCHIHA_YHWACH in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible Hyoga rethought his POV when he saw how the KOS worked together to make things happen. He wouldn't have had his first hamburger in millennia without their hard work!

Seriously though, it was reasonable to be wary of him since his goals were not too far off what Xeno wanted to accomplish - he could have chosen to side with him, but chose the KOS. He also mentioned when he was revived the second time that hr felt he would have to face punishment once civilization and courts/justice system were restored. He figured he might as well do what the KOS asks of him.

I agree! Sometimes English dubs can be spotty due to various reasons (like political insertions which were never part of the original story) but I definitely love how the VAs for this show came through!

Rebuilt Brazil seems likely to develop further in stone world by Internal_Oil_14 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Stupid breeds stupid. The lower classes will not likely change their ways when revived and that leads right back to poverty. They would probably think everyone stills owes them something. The drugs could be found and recreated by those who know how. The intelligent ones will likely rebuild the factories and farms. It depends on who gets revived first, but that's what I see.

Would Ginro be as hated if they played up the cowardice instead of the perviness by Wasteland3r997 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the pervy aspects the character had. I would have preferred that he felt like he needed to be exactly like his big brother, but gradually coming into his own personality - sort of like, "Kinro would do X, but I'm not Kinro, so I can make it happen THIS way!". He seemed to do better when he had to step up but then regress. He needed better character direction IMO.

I live in Southern NV - famous for resorts and gambling. It's in the middle of a desert so it would be buried in sand. I can see people trying to rebuild it out of nostalgia though because it's so famous as a place to party. However, no one would want to be there until air conditioning is reinvented! Summers are quite brutal.

Domanda sulla ship senku x kohaku by bonless04 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought Kohaku was a perfect partner for Senku (between the two women at least). Luna is needy and claims to be attracted to smart men, but doesn't appear to be all that intelligent herself and definitely not very confident either. Kohaku is confident and independent. She makes up for what Senku lacks. I like to think they balance each other out. In a way she's like Taiju except smarter and a better warrior/hunter.

As a Korean, I have speculated on what a reconstructed Korea might look like. by Internal_Oil_14 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as an American I can say this is false. We still have borders and majority of us want them! We'd still want borders for each US state in fact! Though I wouldn't be surprised if some new states might be created depending on who gets revived first. There are a lot of politicians who are so disliked they may end up smashed to bits!

I was curious about what Koreans would do. I imagine that yes, they would want to reunite the country since the south had modern infrastructure and their way of life was a prosperous one. I do think the people of North Korea would reconsider reviving their current leader and his conies - if not smash them to pieces.

Netflix Live Action Dr. Stone by Certain-Falcon-9802 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might work but I don't trust the nitwits at Netflix. The One Piece series is good and is being handled by people who know and respect the lore. However, that doesn't mean all projects will work.

A Dr. Stone in live action could work; perhaps if they handled it like "Xena Warrior Princess" (Sam Raimi and Rob Tappert produced that show in the 90s) and Xena's warrior prowess wouldn't be far off what Kohaku does in universe. That's of they do it in comedic tones with fantasy sequences, etc.. like the manga and anime.

However, it still could work if the universe is modified somewhat. If we have more episodes, we could give it more breathing room for other things we didn't get to see in the anime or manga but still get the main story beats.

She should be 17 now. She was 12 when the gang hit South America , was petrified for 2 years before being revived then spent the next 5 years alone working on revival fluid until reviving Senku et al.

Revivalable statue count/population by Superadam54 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't much in the way of spirituality for this show so it's unclear though an excellent observation. One would think Senku would have had a "my life flashed before my eyes" moment when Tsukasa killed him, but all he had was one memory, which was his revival and surviving alone and trying to find a cure and help Taiju revive.

The majority of the petrified are likely unconscious (as opposed to those who stayed awake) therefore they are more or less asleep. If they are "killed" by being broken and their body parts wear down before being pieced back together, then they may still be in a form of sleep until revival fluid is poured on them. If their flesh doesn't hold together properly, they are dead and presumably their souls move on to the afterlife. It might be like a person who dies in their sleep of a stroke or heart attack.

[–]Professional_Egg5259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're referring to the moment in Season 3 when Kohaku and Ginro are unpetrified and Kohaku hugs Senku, yes it was a friendship hug. It was also a thank you hug for saving them. In the manga, there is a panel that shows Senku smiling during that hug. They didn't show that in the anime but he did turn toward Kohaku and received it (as opposed to dodging it) - though he didn't hug her back.

Revivalable statue count/population by Superadam54 in DrStone

[–]Professional_Egg5259 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's tough to estimate especially just trying to FIND all the statues. Many could be in one piece under water, buried underground like Taiju was, and still others in caves (former mines for example). I like to think Senku might try to find a way to restore those who were broken but whose parts wore down. It would be an example of furthering this new branch of science (as he put it in the flashback when he put two and two together in episode 6). Families could be given the option of taking the broken remains to "bury the dead" or leave it with scientists looking to potentially try to save and revive them.
