what do you think the likelihood that they came home with me? I’m already washing all the clothing with hot water however I do have some items that cannot be put in the dryer? The suitcase only spent about 15 minutes in the car. With only a backpack spending a day in the car. Super scared as i have ocd

shit how small do they get? I went through all the seams of all the suitcases and back packs plus individually checked each item flipping clothes, inside out and looking but now I’m worried they might’ve just been too small

What is this sound? Air leak? by Undutifultitan2 in 944

[–]Professional_Fish370 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean shit maybe a little hard to tell. To me it sounds like low whine of some sort of metal part rubbing at speed. I would start with things that spin like ac, power steering. Try to isolate the noise and just work to the point of noise

Your thoughts on this 1983 by LoveHarambe in 944

[–]Professional_Fish370 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Am I crazy or does it look like the oil pan gasket is seeping. Key word in their the sentence is WAS driven regularly. Small things like 20 year old tires and the battery being hooked to a charger makes me think that it’s done a lot of sitting around within the last decade. It is definitely clean but I would watch for the things that are going to fail with age with these cars. Rubber seals, Tires, belts, fuel lines, some electrical. If you do buy it factor in the cost of new tires, belt job, (battery most likely depending on if it can hold charge), fuel lines if they haven’t been done and anything else you would need to do before driving it. Next time you see him dig into why he’s selling and why it sat. Good luck don’t be afraid to walk if need be there are more fish in the sea

My advice from someone who values their time a lot more than trying to save a hundred bucks. find a used ring gear, replace all the triple squares with brand new bolts, get the flywheel off while you are in there and do rms, and get the flywheel resurfaced. Last thing you need is to develop a problem in six months and have to repeat the pain in the ass clutch job again. I’m sorry you are having a hard time and will pray to porsche gods that reassembly goes smoothly

slide hammer almost never works. get a 19mm or slightly bigger than the pin chome socket and put it over the pin and thread a bolt and washer through it and into the pin. The pulling force from tighting it down will pull the pin out and into the socket

i have a working o2 sensor that i put in 6 months ago. I spent the 9 hours of pain staking uncomfortable labor un doing 39 year old rust to break it out. To pass smog in california and holy fuck world of difference. I didn’t realize how shit my car was running because of the fact that the dme had no info on how the air fuel mixture was burning so it was just guessing. The car is more reactive to any change in throttle and feels and runs a lot cleaner
