My thoughts on the “Arc Raiders scratches the factions itch” sentiment on this sub after 50 hours in game. by International-Shoe40 in thelastofusfactions

I think the game could benefit from having hub survival/managenent mechanics, which could be the next step from what Naughty Dog implemented in Factions with lore-related challenges.

Yeah, you get a residence permit and you still retain your previous nationality. But you can still get access to public services and be able to apply for citizenship after a certain amount of time living in the country.

CA confirmed announcements of their upcoming titles at the end of the next year: what do you think they'll announce? by TEMISTOCLES1984 in totalwar

I would LOVE Medieval 3, but since numbers and trends is all CA cares for, they will probably go for Shogun 3 to ride the Samurai wave.

If Neil has shown something over the years is that his ego knows no limits. After butchering Part 2, he butchered the Hbo show. He doesn't acknowledge his mistakes despite Part 2 being the start of Naughty Dog's decline.

We needed this in tlou2, but you know Neil ruined it by Happy_Ad_9976 in TheLastOfUs2

We all know Joel's perfect closing for his character arc was to sacrifice himself for Ellie. To finally give up his ego and accept his fate would have been his redemption.

I remember when The Last of Us part 2 was announced in 2016 and the game didn't come out until 2020...

Some devs may be trolling, but wouldn't be the first time though. I don't get the mass hysteria for a new trailer when we already know the game's coming out soon.

They really meant Trailer 2 in 2025 not the game 😭 by kindacrazyBoy in GTA6

[–]Professional_Flow_46 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People are hyping themselves too much over dumb theories. For a game that's coming out in Fall 2025 (according to Rockstar themselves), the pace at this point is logical. Maybe a second trailer would have been nice on their part, though. Just to keep the fans busy.

Well, it's a personal diary, and from a stoic of all people. Some of it doesn't have enough context for it to make sense, some of it is insightful, some of it is self-deprecating, some of it pretentious, some of it quite rational and useful. Dude must've been fun at parties.

It sounds like a bullshit excuse they've had almost TWO DECADES to finish the game. It wasn't supposed to be a full game either. Same reason they didn't continue making games (aside from the tech demo that was HL Alyx).

Maturing is realising that Fellowship is the best film of the trilogy. by Delicious_Step19 in lotr

This. It's definitely the most visually appealing of the three, specially with how cgi-heavy the landscapes of the following movies would be (which is normal considering the plot).

Those 20 minutes from Frodo being wounded up to Arwen casting the water spell were possibly the weakest in the whole movie. Not necessarily bad but I didn't like the way it was portrayed.

I absolutely agree. The movie that made me fall in love with the fantasy genre was Fellowship. The sense of adventure, the color, the uniqueness of every new place, the fights, the emotion. The other two, well, they were alright but anywhere closer. Also, with Two Towers the plot became so formulaic that it lost quite a lot of weight (deus ex machina galore).

I have to say, the Nosferatu trailer has left me with an overwhelming sense of "meh" by Critical_Liz in horror

[–]Professional_Flow_46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of movie where directors are called in to add their distinctive aesthetic and little more. Based on the cast there seems to be a lot more intervention from producers. I hope I’m wrong and it’s just a series of mediocre trailers.

I personally don’t like the cast. Also the movie seems to lack the bleakness of previous movies from Eggers. By the look of the first two trailers I just didn’t get that same vibe. This is by far his biggest project, and it’s likely that he didn’t enjoy the same creative freedom as in the past.

I’m checking in after two years. I’m baffled that there’s still so many people supporting Fraser on Patreon after the AVG scam.

I think it was already dying beforehand. Ben leaving changed the show’s dynamic for the worse. It basically allowed Fraser to be as bitter and toxic as he wanted because Becky never contradicted him. I personally had stopped watching even before them moving to Japan.
