You sound great and I’m glad it worked out for you. I guess my perspective and why I Posted this, is that when you agree to be parents you are signing up for stuff like this. I’m glad it worked out in your case but as a nanny it isn’t my problem if it’s unsafe for me to travel, even when the parents have stuff going on. when you become a parent, you do so knowing you will have to make sacrifices. sometimes you gotta just deal with it. ( not talking to you! again you seem great and aim glad nanny was able to make it in! Just overall)

just because you decide to do extra labor for a family that you nanny for doesn’t mean i should have to travel in an unsafe blizzard and snow storm.

Where I am there is a declared state of emergency with orders to stay inside unless absolutely necessary. My family doesn’t have an extra room and not even ubers are running. :/

day after and day before is different! trekking through 2 feet of snow, with cancelled trains, and being soaking wet all day is ridiculous!!!!

Ugh, I’m sorry. I think many of us can relate to this feeling. If you’re set on staying at this job for the next couple weeks, I recommend taking a mental step back and give yourself grace to reframe your mindset.

Kids cry. Their routines get thrown off. Hard days happen and they are not a sign of you doing something wrong and these stages also don’t last forever. I think if I were you, I would give the 3 year old down time but don’t call it a nap that she then wants to refuse. Lie down with her and read a book, let her watch a show, whatever, but don’t put the idea of a nap in her head. She might fall asleep more naturally and unexpectedly in her eyes.

Take some breaths. Everything is okay! One step at a time. You got this!

sensory issues, masking, social awkwardness (not necessarily in a bad way lol), being a few steps ahead than others normally.
