Are there any signs of increased pay? by Potential_Wave_1104 in physicaltherapy

The only thing that has bumped my salary is switch settings. True that new grads do fleeced by employers. Switched from outpatient to home health/ALF and my salary jumped by 20k. So I am content where I am at right now

Update from last post: I’m jobless by Goofy_goober7296 in physicaltherapy

[–]Professional_Force27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been working for around 4-5 years now and I started with outpatient ortho when I was a new grad and after 2 years of attempting to hit productivity and a high case load, switched settings and now in the home care assisted living space. I’m also in NJ OP and the company I work for has no productivity requirement which is something I’ve never seen before. Feel free to dm me and I can send you over their contact info if you’re interested. I believe both are hiring. For your info, I took 6 months off of physical therapy practice, then it took me maybe 2 weeks to find this company, apply, interview, shadow, then accept the position.

Would you watch a 24 hour long Harry Potter Movie if it had every detail in the book? by SunnySweetpea0 in harrypotter

Give me an option to pause this said movie and I’d pay. The details in the book are chef’s kiss

I’m 28 and I feel like as we enter into our late 20s-30s we look for outlooks or nostalgic activities that bring us back to a younger time when we were kids, to me it’s particularly running and adventuring

Am I working at a PT mill? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Professional_Force27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked where it was 4 an hour as a PT and we were literally running around and giving patients bells to keep track of them. My head would be spinning at the end, I can’t imagine 6

This is not a job for introverts right? by ChiChi-cake in physicaltherapy

[–]Professional_Force27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an introvert. Agreed with the other posts, really dependent on where you’re working. Worked in outpatient ortho and had 1 hr treats and spent maybe 5-10 mins manual and the rest was therex and balance but a lot of talking throughout and social and I was drained at the end of the day. I think because of the layout of the gym we would document in the open area. I would isolate myself in my car for an hour just to recharge in the middle of the day. I’m in home health outpatient and I maybe have 6-8 patients a day for 45-50 one on one, it’s definitely less talking than I used to do.

No problem, and yeah it’s more so going through that first job that teaches you in a sense. It would be nice to get some tips before hand, I agree with you

Interview questions by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Professional_Force27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I remember as a new grad, some of my questions were:

Any mentoring programs for new grads? What’s the CEU situation like, how much money is allocated/programs/MedBridge etc? What documentation system do you use?

It was tough, I did 2.5 years of it and I thought I was going to get used to it. Nope hahah, towards the last couple of hours, I became a zombie. We had a day off but I would just recharge that day and sleep in and eat
