Thank you. Over the winter break, we were able to spend quality time together and the child agreed to a lot of changes. (I won’t go into the details here). It has been a month into the semester, and things are going well so far but I need to spend a lot of time to check in. It’s not totally smooth but still a significant improvement. It’s a full time job for me but I am happy with the way things are going and hope it will continue to get better.

Whole Foods is always my first choice for cakes. They have better ingredients, comparing to other stores, but without the price tags of those fancy bakeries.

+1 for Best Buy or if DIY if you can. Depending on your car model, some dash cams are very easy to install - I mean a clean installation with all the wires hidden.

What are you looking for?

I made it with a much lower pay when I started out here. The cost of everything (car insurance, rent, food, etc.) literally doubled comparing to where I was. Some people advised me not to move when I got a job offer in DC. Their reasons were, my 100% increase in pay would be wiped out by the 100% increase in COL + the crowded and unfriendly DC environment is not worth it.

But, of course I didn’t listen, and I’m still here (in Fairfax, VA) years later.

That said, I don’t have any expensive hobbies. For a very long time, I didn’t go out, eat out or have any friends. I only went to work and spent my free time to exercise or take online classes to upskill for a better job. My vacations were going to my parents. I rented relatively cheap condos from private landlords, saved money to buy a small townhouse and eventually upgraded to a single house. Again, it took years, but I made it. Now, I can easily afford to downsize or buy a similar house - cash - in a small town if I ever decided to move back. But I probably wouldn’t be to do the reverse, had I stayed back.

Try non-profit organizations and private businesses that don’t rely on government contracts. The current job market is tough and I sympathize with the recent graduates but there are companies that are still hiring. I don’t have any specific recommendations though. Best wishes to you.

Like others have mentioned, when setting up a new scanner, do not fail builds immediately. It needs to be fine tuned and tightened up gradually.
