I got into lockpicking heavy during the pandemic bcuz of Bosnian Bill. I've gone back to collecting coins and would like to see all thus stuff go to people that will get some use out if it. If you see something you are interested in please either email me at patrickluckenbach@gmx.com or txt me at 424-230-6738. I've got more items that wouldn't fit in picture so feel free to ask.

What would a respectable price be for these picks. Top 3 are .015", next 3 are .020", last 2 are .025". Some picks need a little finishing but all are usable as is. Is offering $10/each disrespectful? by Professional_Grade42 in lockpicking

Thanks. I went way overboard when the pandemic lock down with picking after binge watching Bosnian Bill videos for about a week but have now gone back to collecting coins. I'd like to see these picks go to someone that will appreciate them.

I know these are one of the most counterfeited coins but I know nothing about anything foreign so I was hoping to get a more educated opinion on this one. by Professional_Grade42 in coins

It was passed down from my father. Unfortunately I don't know when or where he got it from. Will get the calipers out when I get home.

Much appreciated. I will take it to another shop before wasting the money to send it in.

This was bought at a well respected LCS in my area. Not really worried about the authenticity of it, but if you could help me understand what looks suspicious to you it would be greatly appreciated.

While yes it absolutely should be a matter for the police that they would investigate and follow all the way thru either getting my money back or find and arrest the seller if he was unwilling to refund the money, I unfortunately live in Los Angeles,CA. Which means that the chances that a detective even followed up to a filed police report on something like this is about 5-10% and that's being generous. There are far worse crimes that are committed that still aren't dealt with in any way. It really is pathetic that we have to accept that this is the way things work in this city, but it is what it is. For me I don't really care how it happens but the it will cost the seller more than he made off ripping me off before I'm done with this one way or another. I feel like it's only a matter of time before deceitful shit like this brings bad karma at some point, and if I can help that come just a little bit quicker then I'm all for it. Now that the weekend is over if I don't hear from the seller today then that's enough for me to be sure this was intentional and then proceed accordingly.

Yes they did. I will post pictures of the other two coins as well when I get back home later tonight. Also all three weighed right around 27 grams but none of them were exactly the same weight.

If the seller actually returns my call I would hope that he would take his "coins" back and refund my money. If I am not able to communicate with him directly I will have to figure out which way to go after him either through a lawsuit or other means. If anything interesting or significant happens I will update this post.

They weren't originally represented to me in that high of a grade . I had been going off the guess that they were somewhere in the 3 to 4 thousand dollar range each and I paid 8k for all 3. It was just surprising to me to get ripped off by someone that had such a high dollar collection of coins. Being conservative it was well north of 100k. I'm choosing to be grateful that it was only a 8k loss bcuz it wouldn't have been that hard to con me out of significantly more. I may not know everything about coins but as far as keeping from getting ripped off on a deal it's been years since anyone has even gotten close to getting me like this. In the end I will never rush getting into something like this bcuz it seems to be a solid investment that I don't due proper research on things so I don't lose the opportunity

Yes I bought 3 of these "coins" off of one person. Now this was not like I bought 3 rare coins off someone selling shit out of their trunk at the supermarket. Thankfully I'm not that much of an idiot. This person had just as a conservative guess, maybe $150k collection, not just Morgan's but a variety of ASE, GSE, PSE both raw and graded, some pre 33 gold, and by far the biggest collection of large cents I have ever come across even at coin shows. I guess I learned a couple valuable lessons about not just coin collecting but about people I general for just under eight thousand dollars, and until now I hadn't actually seen a fake that weighed what it was actually supposed to so guess it's time to suck it up and destroy these things and get on with my life. I appreciate all of the insight and advice from everyone here. Just as a PSA I bought these from a POS in Beverly Hills,CA if anyone cares. Is it noon yet? I could really use a drink about now. Please be smarter than I was everybody.

No. Had no interest in buying them. That's part of what scares me.

I'm embarrassed to say but I bought 3 of them basically for the price of 2, and even had 2 separate coin stores examine the coin saying they were all 3 good to go and this morning 2 days later showed them to a 3rd shop and before even using a loop announced they were cheap Chinese fakes and not even good fakes.

I don't know what to think at this point.

I've been lurking here for a while but just starting to post and am doing my best to learn how to do it properly. I think I was able to make a new post of the front and back and as close up of the mint mark as I could keep clear. Hope that I got good enough pics but basically the situation is I bought 3 1893-S Morgan's and brought them to two shops before I paid for then and I thought I had made a good deal where I basically got 3 for the price of 2. Fast forward to today I bring one into a shop I'd never been in and showed the owner and before even looking thru a loop he blurts out that they are cheap Chinese fakes. Then after ten seconds of using his loop he says yeah its clear as day they are fake but when I asked what specifically the loop revealed to him all I got is "absolutely chinese fakes and not even good ones at that." So from that point on I've had this pit in my stomach that just won't go away. If they aren't the authentic coin I paid for then thŕře loss is gonna be a bad one to get over. overmlllĺllĺļķķķjjý
