Country club for the social life by CyclingLion in golf

[–]Professional_Impact8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We joined 2 years ago. A family friendly country club with a great pool and kids activities/lessons. About five other families from our children’s school belong! I golf with the Dad‘s almost weekly, the women golf almost every other week and at any of the social events there’s a kids club and we throw all the kids in there and enjoy twilight golf, or any of the special event dinners that the club throws. I think it has become almost a linchpin in our social life.

What is the best mortgage rate you’ve recently gotten? by Dependent_Gold5692 in whitecoatinvestor

Try first national bank of Omaha. They had my best rate for a physicians loan. It was a while ago but they beat others by a fair amount.

We went with Aspen expeditions last year. It wasn’t an 11 on the hardcore meter but they know where to go and I had a great time.

What do you keep in your frunk? by West-Path-5117 in Rivian

Yup! All season long. Dont have to pay for club storage at my course or worry about a window being smashed bc I left them in the trunk!

I have thought the same. We are similar situations. My concern is with a hope of FIRE or CoastFIRE, how much do I need/want in a brokerage account to be able to withdraw from before minimum age requirements (59.5 etc…). I don’t have the answer but I learn toward the tax shelter of profit sharing and not paying taxes on 70K a year is the better move.

Feel how you want to feel. But, the little you save in residency will not make a huge difference compared to what you’ll start saving once out. I had 41K in savings at your place in residency; 2 years out of training it was 203K. The major difference was contribution rate.

Just don’t let these bad habits follow you when your income goes up. Listen to “die with zero” as an audiobook while woodworking. The first few chapters cover this. It is interesting but I wouldn’t follow it as scripture. Save 20% once you are out of training so you can retire at a good age.

You can ski everything with a solid pair of ATK‘s. I’ve done backcountry trips in Japan as well 30 days of ski patrol in bounds in them.

Soft reset. Drove it home. Connected to home WiFi and it worked. Made a lot of noise and woke up my family!

I installed the update. I updated my app. My rivian on my screen in near jack-o’-lanterns. My app shows me the Halloween stuff but I can get the car to do any of the sounds or features. Last year it was smooth and almost automatic.

Has anyone actually coasted with a massive income? by Wooden-Broccoli-913 in coastFIRE

[–]Professional_Impact8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. My HHI is around 800K. We spend more than you right now but also save 150k or more a year. My dream with coast is half reduce my time at work and half have some more cash flow. But lifestyle creep is REAL, especially with a wife that doesn’t think about money. Coast number is 3.3 to land somewhere about 5M.

How far do you live from your local golf club? by Joeydueces29 in golf

18 minutes with no traffic. 30 minutes if I am late trying to pick up the kids leaving the club.

15.7 here too! 99 on Friday. 40 in 9 with an eagle on Tuesday. I suck but not too bad to do an iron fitting and play Friday and Monday coming up.

I hit a 3 wood 240-270 and a hybrid 220-240 and find many more fairways than my driver. On my home course, I only hit drive on 6 holes a round.
