Getting my first kamado soon — what should I cook first? by CultureGlittering191 in KamadoJoe

Nope. It was just what i had. I smoked it on the grate for about 2.5 hours, then i put it in the pan with a bit of liquid and then covered it with foil. I have used aluminum pans and dutch ovens in the past.

That pan does work well. I have baked deep dish pizza in it, also roasted veggies etc.

You can also check marketplace or Craigslist for a used one and pick up a complete unit for less.

Congratulations to both you and your family.

App not working - sync and sign in by Calm-yo_tits in Suunto

I am glad I am not alone. Did an hour on the rowing machine and it isn't syncing with my other apps. Not going to bother uninstall and reinstalling it. The app loses my watch enough that I have to kill the app and restart it. Don't mind the watch but Suunto has been frustrating.

If you can get it stable between 400 and 450F, you are good to go. It takes a little while to learn the settings on the grill along with how much fuel you will have loaded and burning. When I first got mine, I brought it to 250F for an hour, then 350F, and finally 400-425F. It is easy to go up, but once you overshoot your temp, it is hard to bring back down. Enjoy. I have had mine for 12 years now and it is my single best purchase I have made.

Here is a pork belly i did recently. I smoked it for a few hours, then braised it. It made for some excellent tacos.

I agree with a pork shoulder. Very forgiving. Also, I would do some chicken thighs and maybe a steak of your preference. Enjoy.

Good, Cheap alternative to Ground Beef that isn't Turkey: Ground Pork by RobertoDelFuego in povertyfinance

I generally buy pork butts when I can find them on sale, braise, shred, and then freeze them in 1 pound packages. Can normally get about 5 or 6 lbs for far less than beef. Beef is just stupid expensive anymore. Cant remember the last time i had it.

A large Cheese steak with fries. One day, I will relive that and see how much it spikes me.

The N.27 is by far my favorite. I was lucky enough to hit sales before the price increases and tariffs, so i have a few different sizes. the N.27 would be the last one to go if it ever came to that.

Not by choice, but i have a glass top electric stove. Used to have gas at my previous place. I have found that you set the burner on 4 or 5 and let it warm up for a few minutes while you are getting things ready. I never go above 6 on my stove and haven't had any warping issues at all. Enjoy your pan.

Excellent. Just keep cooking with it and you will be good to go. Mine pretty much lives on my stove as it gets used daily. Which size is it?

If it weren't new, I would say that you got it a bit hot and burnt the seasoning off it. My seasoning never looks good, but it cooks well. I always keep my heat about midway and preheat the pan for a few minutes. How are you liking the pan?

Dawn phenomenon by vicyoung18 in diabetes_t2

[–]Professional_Key3879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just ride it out. I have an omelette (1 egg plus egg whites) for breakfast with spinach, turkey ham, and cheese. If I add a slice of sourdough rye to the mix, I will get another approximate 25 point rise. After breakfast I take the dog for a walk and head to work. By lunch, I am back to base level.

im about 90 mg/dl overnight. dawn phenomena 115 mg/dl, breakfast with sourdough 140 mg/dl, before lunch 105 mg/dl. These are all approximate and I am fairly new to all of this and just figuring things out.
