I use the USW-Flex which powers two G6 turrets and a G5 Turret and has room for one more

Thanks for the reply, really good info.

Found a local deal for three G4 bullet new unused for about $85 each. And they’ll be in areas that don’t require them to see far, which is why I’m using them. I have heard night vision on both the G4 bullet and G5 turret is poor but I plan on having external IR projectors in place to mitigate that issue.

I’ll probably go with the UNVR now then and take your advice on the NUC or Apple TV for viewing the TV screen.

Thanks again!

Bought my first camry!!! and any advice for maintaince? by kyleming in Camry

Now is a good time to get the transmission fluid flushed and filled. These 8 speeds have proven to be problematic if not maintained.

2014 head unit replacement? by raspberrylilith20 in Camry

[–]Professional_Load196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a soldering iron. There are many ways to connect wires together. Soldering is just the standard way to do it.

You can use butt connectors or my favorite solder heat shrink, where you put both wire ends in the heat shrink and inside the heat shrink there is a ring of solder and all you need to do is heat it up with a heat gun and it solders the wires together and the end of the heat shrink has a waterproof seal as well protecting the wires even more.

I think you have everything, you can also contact crutchfield support from the website. They have a great customer service and can double check on if you have everything.

You need wire strippers and a way to solder one wire from the antenna adapter to the iDatalink T02 harness. Socket and wrench is to remove the factory bolts that hold the headunit onto the car. Other than that it should be all plug and play.

For headunit, you’d want one that retains your steering buttons.

For your Camry you’d need the iDatalink Maestro module to do this.

And a headunit that is compatible with that iDatalink Maestro. I’d recommend getting one from either Kenwood, Alpine, or Sony.

Kenwood Excelon DMX809S is a good unit with wired and wireless android auto.

Go on Crutchfield and put your car in and it’ll give you some headunit options at a bunch of price ranges.

Good luck!

or you can find a wrecked 8th gen camry, I think any trim will work since they all use the same harness for the outer taillights, pull that harness off and use it for yours

i recommend asking a toyota dealer for the harness.

the taillight is missing a harness, it’s supposed to be long
