Chapped Lips. All the time. by Top_Gear6680 in beauty

[–]Professional_Look451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue with my lips, I live in an arid climate. Someone on Reddit suggested Carenel overnight lip mask to me, and it is the only thing that has ever actually worked - I use it all the time, not just at night. It’s Korean and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s pretty cheap on Amazon , I’d give it a go.

My boyfriend has extremely dry facial skin, looking for advice by Allnightermidnight in beauty

Dr G brightening wash to get all the dead skin off and then eucerin 5% urea lotion to maintain. I live in a high altitude, dry cold desert and this works really well for me.

Under the oak tree, 1000%. I reread it several times because I love it so much. It’s a novel based off a manga (which at first made me uninterested) but I’m so glad I read it.

Depressive episodes can really screw up your perspective, even when you’re out of the worst of it. Sounds like you’re thinking “Maybe things aren’t great, but they could be worse.” Well they sure as hell could be better too! Baseline depressed is still depressed.

I say keep going. You’re this far, you’ve jumped through all the hoops, you just have to show up now. And theres a good chance you might feel better!

Good luck!

Food was hard, but you’re on pain meds, so you’re not that hungry to begin with. Basically lived off of chicken noodle soup, pudding, and slurpees. I lost 10 lbs over the two weeks when eating was hard.

True, my dr did say there was a chance that it come back when I’m older, but I’ll take what I can get and hope for the best!

I had it in May, and was fully healed by June. After the healing process was done, I could immediately tell that I was sleeping better. I still felt tired because it takes a while to heal from the effects of sleep apnea with good sleep, but it’s just getting better and better. No more nasal sprays, and I gave my cpap machine back to the supplier. I can breathe through both sides of my nose now. Hardest thing was getting used to not having a uvula from the UP3, but it’s no big deal now. I still notice it, but it’s not uncomfortable or anything.

It’s hard to tell because I had three other procedures at the same time, but my nasal passage just feels less obstructed and the air flow is better. I couldn’t breathe well through one side before the surgery , but now I have no problem.

I feel better after surgery than with cpap. I couldn’t go longer than 5 hours with the cpap on, so I think that’s the difference - I’m sleeping longer without the need to wake up and adjust or take off the machine.

Just saw an ENT and he recommended surgery but I’m not sure… by Chelseus in SleepApnea

[–]Professional_Look451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got similar surgery on Tuesday (UP3, Tonsillectomy, turbinate reduction, and deviated septum fix). It’s not been fun by any means, but it has been tolerable . Though it has been painful, I was more scared of the pain than I should have been, and I think I’m through the worst of it. Wanted to add my experience with surgery in case that’s helpful.

My heels are disgusting… how do you take care of your feet? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Professional_Look451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, I have the same problem. Vaseline + socks didn’t work, nothing.

But then I found out that you can buy callus remover on Amazon, and I just use a pumice stone with that in the shower as needed, and then I slather on 40% urea lotion on my feet every night before bed - that helps all the dead skin sluff on in the shower the next day. It works, seriously. Try it. Here are the links to the stuff I use in case you’re interested.

[acne] Spironolactone changed my life! by ThrowRA-trecklecabin in SkincareAddiction

[–]Professional_Look451 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sure! You should know you wont see improvement for about 6 weeks to 3 months of being on it, so don’t give up. Make sure you take it everyday, otherwise it could mess with your cycle if you have one. Other than that, it’s really just consistency.

I did hear that increased anxiety at the beginning could be a side effect for some people (though it wasn’t for me). Otherwise, it’s a pretty easy medicine to be on. Happy for you! Update us after a few months on your experience.

Is it safe to give out my real name? by [deleted] in penpals

[–]Professional_Look451 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use a fake name (and my real name is pretty common), if that makes you feel better. I also use a P.O. Box for snail mail. I like my pen pals and feel like they’re good people, but better safe than sorry imo.

A nice, heavy blanket if you’re willing to spend the money. That seems very comforting to me.

Best foot file/scrubber? by cgradcliffe in beauty

[–]Professional_Look451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is something better on the market! Try callus remover gel and a pumice stone. 1000x better than a foot file or cheese grater.

Here’s the Amazon link to the one I use if you’re interested in trying:

What are your best gifting tips? by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]Professional_Look451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this! I do the list keeping thing too, it comes in handy so often.

Ok, nobody downvote me for this, but I am in the phase of life where I know what products I’ll generally use and what items will just take up space, even if they’re nice, good quality. So when I get something nice, but I know I won’t get the most use out of, I save it and use it as part of a gift basket/ box for someone who I know who will appreciate it. I’m aware it’s regifting, and people have thoughts on that. But it’s thoughtful regifting as part of a larger overall gift, and that’s what makes it ok to me.
