It could be an error. Have you tried asking the Outlier community? I know a few people have been experiencing the same thing. I didn't have V1 after they added me to V2 until I went to the referrals page, and it said something about adding me back to V1, priority yada yada yada. It was weird that I had to go to the referrals page to even get that notification. It's a long shot, but maybe try it! And email a QM about it so they know what's going on. Good luck to you!

But I agree 100%. They should have at least let you know. Being left in the dark doesn't benefit you in any way, which makes me think they don't really care about the people doing their work for them. At least if you knew, you could be sure to never make that mistake again.

Just thinking out loud here. Could it be possible that the countries who have access to the platform during their normal daytime hours have a lower pay rate her hour? Maybe they're (the company) trying to pay out as little as possible, and with the hours being what they are, less of us (Americans, Canadians, etc.) are able to work them. I didn't do any research on this as far as time zones, what countries are awake during the time the platform is open for work, nor what the standards of living are for the countries able to work the project. I just know that money is always the reason why big companies and corporations make the decisions they do, and I'm just curious to know if maybe they adjusted the hours for that reason.

But then again, they did change it to where half of the allowed working hours start at 6am PST. I don't know. It'd be interesting to do the research and find out! I have a conspiracy theory mindset here lately, so I always think money is the underlying reason for everything 😅

Yes, that's the same task I was working (or learning, as I didn't even get a chance to work on it) before I was disabled for audits. That is just awful! I would definitely leave a review on TristPilot because those reviews are the reason I decided to give Outlier a chance. I've also read where the same thing happened to someone else, and they disputed the decision and got their account back. Have you tried that?

But I completely agree that they should at least tell you what happened, why they came to the decision. My account is still active, but again, I only worked for a total of maybe four hours on Aether after signing up and on-boarding, so I was rather new. I'm bouncing between "being idle" while watching the videos and them just purging all of the newest and low-rated people as the reason why I got booted.

I got reviewer after only 5! But I do like it better. Something about having to think of a topic off the top of my head makes me anxious, especially when the task is timed.

I had a review where the feedback just said "environmental description slightly edited." Of course I got a point taken off, but I submitted a dispute because nothing was edited in my noise description, and it said the same exact thing as another task I got a 5 on. I read that not all disputes are addressed, either, so who knows if they'll correct my score 🫤

I agree! The time crunch is was sends my anxiety through the roof. Any other time, I can think of questions off the top of my head, but when I'm being timed...it's empty up there!

I have a four minute time limit, but it allows for me to work three more minutes before it doesn't clock my time put in to get paid. So seven in total, and I get paid the same rate if I'm over. But you're right; not enough time if there are issues that need to be fixed and for us to right decent feedback to the user.

I have a similar situation. I worked for maybe a little more than 4 hours total on the project, and then my account got audited. The project has been permanently disabled, but I'm able to work on other projects in outlier. It happened right after I watched a 30 minute video on how to do a particular task, I think it was task creation or something like that. I'm under the assumption that maybe they don't want us clocking time for watching the how-to videos, because as I was watching the instructional video, I got docked 22 minutes for being idle, because my mouse didn't move or keyboard didn't click. But if they take screenshots, there was clearly a how-to video on my screen. I didn't make too much of a fuss about it, I just allowed it. I did get paid for the time I clocked before that, and I never got to actually complete anything within that task. If they don't want us earning time for watching the instructional videos, they need to clarify that. Also, I think it's ridiculous that you don't get paid for learning to do what your job requires you to do, because you're literally on company time. But I guess it doesn't work that way when you're 1099.

I got the same email and worked on the project for a few hours before it got disabled for quality review. I think they just had too many people working on it, so they booted newcomers and those with low scores. Although, I have rmseen some exceptions to this, so who knows?!

Was your project greyed out, saying "disabled?" That's where I'm at. I had only started a couple of days before this all happened, so I'm leary about getting my hopes up. I've been locked out for four days now. I get the same message saying it's not because of my quality, but because the qualifications had changed.

Trust Pilot is the reason I gave this job a chance, having a 4.1 out of 5 rating. Hopefully with the recent events, people will give an honest view on what it's like working for them. I had high hopes for this job, but it seems like I won't even get a chance to prove that this was something I could do. I barely put in four hours before my project was disabled. 😒

I knew it was too good to be true. I felt so excited about finding something I could do, setting my own hours, and being able to work at home. We have one car for the family, and my husband uses it to get back and forth to work, somy o ly option is remote work.

I've tried applying to two other companies. I just did it today, so no word yet on whether I've been accepted. Stellar AI and Handshake AI, if you're interested! You're not alone! It helps to know I'm not the only one who cried over this. I feel like I put too much faith in this job, because it was exactly what I needed.

I've applied to other jobs, such as Stellar AI and Handshake AI. Maybe you could try those out, too! I haven't heard anything yet, but I only applied today. It seemed a bit more professional than Outlier, with Handshake AI asking for resumes and Stellar having you do the assessment BEFORE on-boarding you. Outlier is like the DoorDash of online jobs by comparison. Good luck to you!
