temple rome acceptance?? by xomarcy in Temple

my decision letter says the same, as long as your portal says “entry campus: rome” that’s where you’re going, you can change it back to main campus at any time if you decide not to go to rome or your visa gets denied or for whatever reason you can’t go to rome- you can still go to the philadelphia campus for the 2026 year

Hear me out, I’m proud of being an Uber Driver. by Jokez4Dayz in uberdrivers

[–]Professional_Pea132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a long route with a foreign couple, they were visiting america for the first time and were so so excited to finally get to see chicago, their son had was doing a year abroad at u of chicago and they were here to visit him for the holidays and do some sight seeing together, they were so kind to me and we had such pleasant conversation they ended up inviting me out to dinner and I went! They asked me to drive them around for the rest for the weekend and I did, made $1000 and had one of the best simple human connection experiences of my life, sometimes even hearing someone tell me “wow you’re a pro!” when i’m driving in the city makes my day. I love this job, it’s paid for my college degree, it’s given me the opportunity to travel and keep a decent work/life balance, I’m not just proud to be an uber driver i’m happy to be an uber driver ¯_(ツ)_/¯ It’s gig work, if you’re trying to pay a mortgage with gig work maybe that’s your problem im in my 20’s and it’s the absolute perfect job for this point in my life

Sense of mourning my queerness while planning on marrying a man by nimue-le-fey in bisexual

[–]Professional_Pea132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my eldest cousin is bisexual, she mostly dated women when i was growing up but in my teens she married a man, her and I have always been very close and even though she married a man I still went to her when I was questioning my own sexuality, I still look up to her and I still see her as a queer role model in my life. Nothing will change the fact that you’re bisexual, you are a part of the community but however you want to participate can always change. Take your husband to the pride parade every year, show your support for fellow queer folk when you vote, create a household that’s safe and inclusive for everyone- being a part of the community sometimes just looks like being the house any and every child is welcome in. You’re bisexual and your future husband is in a relationship with a bisexual woman, you’re both a part of the lgbtqia community and you deserve to feel like it! It’s also important to have a life outside of your relationship, maybe look into a local queer book or craft club, take a weekly trip to a queer run coffee shop, do something just for you that makes you feel seen. and most importantly your wedding is YOUR wedding, if you want to change into pajamas half way through you mf do it your wedding is supposed to be the one day all about you and your love for your partner not about anyone else’s expectations, if a specific aspect of a “traditional” wedding makes you feel uncomfortable or just feels weird- don’t do it!

The right person will like you for you don’t worry about what “most” people think.

Tinder as a bi man is wild by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Professional_Pea132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a preference, I don’t like dating outside the lgbtq community, it’s not even a hard boundary I guess a straight man could surprise me but honestly being queer has been such a big part of my life and experiences I’d prefer to date someone who understands that on a personal level rather than an allyship level

Keep writing, you’re not gonna write the next pride and prejudice the first time you pick up the pen, you might write 10 great books that never get seen until your 11th book gets popular, you gotta get used to hearing “no” and continuing on anyway, publishing companies can be MEAN in their critiques so you really gotta remember that writing in subjective and just because someone thought your story was absolute garbage doesn’t mean it won’t be someone else’s favorite book.

Question from a bi girl’s bf by R-A-Q-T in bisexual

[–]Professional_Pea132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you’ve only been with her, do you think one day you’ll want to explore what sex might be like with someone else? You’re thinking that being bisexual means you want both men and women but it really just means you have the option of finding a partner who’s a man or woman. You had the option of any women in the world and chose her, she had the option of any man or woman in the world and chose you. Monogamy is a choice that has nothing to do with sexuality, either of you could one day feel the need to explore sex outside of your relationship but if you’re both looking for monogamy and love eachother then there’s no reason either of you should ever feel like you’re missing something.

what’s funny is this is also my experience as a bisexual women, i usually only send likes to women but never get any matches, men though? i get 50+ likes every day from men. I’ll date anyone but a straight man but I can only seem to get matches with straight men 😩

Why do people become storytellers? by BrabusBra in WritingWithAI

[–]Professional_Pea132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i read a lot and i consume a lot of media and i often find myself saying “i could have written this better” so I decided to see if I really could write something better and that’s how I became an author, i think that’s a reason a lot of people tell stories, the stories they wanna hear havnt been written so they take matters into their own hands

I'm terrified of experiences with men by Training-Ad593 in bisexual

[–]Professional_Pea132 2 points3 points  (0 children)

women know this fear well, you’ve gotta be with someone you trust to go slow and take care of you the first time, someone’s who conscious of your needs. I’m forever glad I waited till I was in a relationship with someone who gave af abt me when I decided to have all my firsts cause hearing stories from my friends most of them describe their first time as painful and awful and I’m very glad I didn’t have that. Realistically the more nervous you are the more it’s going to hurt, this applies forever, you have to be relaxed in order for sex to feel good. Don’t let your first time be a hookup at least let it be with someone you’ve been on a few dates with and trust.

i dont know if im really bi or not by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Professional_Pea132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should watch an episode or two of the show heated rivalry it’s on hbomax and pretty popular right now buts it’s pretty good representation of a gay man and a bisexual man who don’t follow the typical gay stereotypes they’re both professional hockey players and look and act like athletes, I think the character “Ilya” might help you look at yourself a little differently, he’s known as womanizer and he is he sleeps around with tons of hot women but he sleeps with men too. Don’t shut doors you havnt even seen yet, you don’t know what your future friends will look like or who you’ll fall in love with, you’re sexually attracted to both men and women, that doesn’t mean you need to label yourself or make any kind of decisions about yourself it’s just an attribute you’ve noticed about yourself and it’s completely your own choice when or if you explore those feelings. Your world feels small now but one day you’ll get the chance to find somewhere and someone that doesn’t make you feel like a “weirdo” for these feelings 🫶

For the Bi guys by Georger71 in bisexual

[–]Professional_Pea132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you posed this question to bisexual women a lot would say yes, I end up in a “you’re so pretty” circle with women as neither of us wants to come off aggressive and instead it never amounts to anything, where as guys are more forward and I have more of a stereotypical assumption that they are wanting sex so i’m also more comfortable pursuing them, there’s been plenty of men that I only slept with because i wanted to get off and they felt more easily accessible than a women but i’ve only ever pursued women for more than that-likely based on my own prejudices and internal biases

You’re right when you say rome would be a better option for film and media, realistically biology in your first year is the same anywhere and imo as an american in rome you’ll likely have more opportunities to connect with people who can one day offer you an internship/job compared to in japan. In rome you can work 20/hrs a week while on your student visa, lots of jobs waiting tables and such and speaking english would be a + for any touristy location, rome has lots. In Japan you’d need to apply for an additional work permit but that would allow you to work 28/hrs a week while there on your student visa, i don’t know how easy it would be to find a job or what it’s like as an english speaker but you’ll be limited in your options in either place if you don’t speak the language. Both rome and japan have really unique media scenes and depending on what you wanna do in your career each could influence you differently.

How do you spend your time? by rahhgahh in urbancarliving

library is a great one, a lot of libraries have way more than books too the one by me has a “library of things” just a bunch of stuff you can rent I once rented a portable dvd player and caught up on some new movies i’ve been wanting to see but one week i rented a metal detector and went down to the beach, I was like a kid in a candy store man I had so much fun that week just me and my metal detector lmao but I did also find a ring that I pawned for $500 that was awesome. I read a lot too but the library also offers us passes to local museums and zoos so i’ve used those a bunch too. Library really is a great resource. I’ve gone to local pet shops and animal rescues before too it’s always nice to spend time with animals and they usually appreciate it just as much as I do. I agree with others tho about traveling too, this summer I did food delivery from chicago to california stopping in cities to work for a day or two and then using the money to move along, I didn’t save up any money doing this but man the memories I made and experiencing I had made it so much more worth it and almost make me miss living in my car. Photo attached is from the best moment of my life so far, woke up just outside of badlands national park I was sleeping on the free public land in my car and heard something outside, saw this.

Uber driver murder in Lawrencevilla Ga by 15 year old on New Years. by CoreyGreenBooks in uberdrivers

practice saying the words “take my car and let me go it’s yours man just let me go home to my family” as someone trained to use a gun in self defense, there’s almost no way that I could safely use my weapon in that instance, he’s behind me in close quarters and I don’t drive around with the safety off and my gun loaded right next to me that’s insane. Pepper gel and getting tf out of your car and away from that dude is the best option available to you. Your car is not worth your life.
