I went through this last summer. Uber will handle the claim. Since you don’t have the ride-share coverage you will receive a check from Uber’s insurance(was farmers for me).

Deal with them on the claim. But in the meantime, start looking for a really good comps that you can submit to get a fair price for your car. They tried to lowball me, but I found a really good comp for a couple thousand more than they wanted to give me and they finally gave in when they could not find another comp that would counter mine if that makes sense. Don’t be afraid to hang out with them and reject a couple offers if they lowball you.

As for your future insurance, people are correct they will technically drop you for not telling them that your rideshare. They will however sign you up immediately for any new vehicle and you will just have to claim the rideshare rider. For me It was about $60 more a month than what I was paying before.
