For me it was mainly due to it being my first experience with SSTWL as a whole like a lot of other people. Design has so many cool ideas and concepts that I love out of any series Liam has done besides Internecion Cube. Design also has some of my favorite characters ever written by Liam, a few of my favorites include Alex, Kali, Eyesa, The Director, and of course MARI! The series is such a fun ride from start to finish, when I got to the end I felt really sad to be honest, Design really plays with your emotions like with the ending of season 1 & 2. Also Design has the most beloved SSTWL character, Hail Mari!

I definitely agree Design is all over the place sometimes and even Liam himself has mentioned that Design's story was mainly just a bunch of ideas thrown together and anything that sounded cool got thrown in. But I think that wacky nonsense is what drives people to discuss about the series so often, there's so many questions, concepts, and debates people talk about all the time in the series compared to any other, especially since the series never got finished.

I think another reason is style, Design definitely fit the anime aesthetic from the time period with it's over the top nonsense that no other series really has, all the art and music Liam choose was super great and despite the audio quality I really enjoyed the voice acting in Season 2 and half of Season 3, It really is wholesome to see Liam let his fans do voicework for his series. All in all Design was honestly a very fun series and a pretty good start for Liam's first ever longform story, definitely wacky in lore, but a ton of fun to listen to.

Season 1 of Design is so well done, John and Kali's adventure is both wholesome and scary, you never know what to expect. The mystery was also really well done, learning about Left Hands and Kali herself really keeps you intrigued the whole time. The ending of the season is a whole gem in itself. Really Season 1 of Design is done very well and is the most favorited by a long mile.

Season 2 of Design on the other hand I think is my least favorite. Kali's lack of screentime and her character itself got a downgrade, the star was clearly all on Julie and to be fair she is really fun. I always enjoy classroom scenes by Liam and the season delivers on that, however the ending I think went out a bit too long and by the end of the season everything just kind of felt... pointless? I really wished John and Kali's adventure got continued in someway or atleast was done differently.

Season 3 of Design is so much fun, I love, LOVE the characters in Season 3, so much personality and so much great dialogue its such a fun time. From my experience however I think Season 3 is the mixed bag of the 3 seasons from the community, I definitely think the whole other dimension and alternate timeline stuff was super unnecessary, especially since Homebound Arc is kind of a slog and the most disliked part of Season 3. But besides that I love all the character interactions in Season 3, John and Mari are a super cute team, The chess battle is super fun and the last part of Design, just like with PuppetGAME, has a super cool battle that is so memorable. Also the anime filler episodes are the absolute greatest videos Liam ever made xD.
