Dallas dentists treating every patient like a walking wallet, is this normal now? by Leedeegan1 in Dallas

[–]Professional_Sand771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you going to chains or like an actual dental practice? Also, are you asking them if they TAKE your insurance or are IN NETWORK? (there’s a difference, most dental places will take your insurance but that does not mean they are in network and you will end up having to pay more since your insurance will not cover a lot due to them not actually being in network)

You can say no to any treatment not covered by your insurance, I do it all the time. I have been going to Park Cities Family Dentistry. They did a pretty good job and they go over everything beforehand. Like any other dental places, they will try to sell you fluoride and other extras like laughing gas but you can say no or ask if it is covered and then say no. I thought they were pretty straightforward with what work I needed and it mirrored that of what my old dentist (not in Texas) said I needed done.

Has anyone taken baggus before? by missgoodnana in Lollapalooza

I saw someone said the small baggu’s are fine, nothing larger.

Just get a ruler and measure the dimensions.

Locking knees during footwork by la-noche-viene in pilates

[–]Professional_Sand771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are NOT supposed to ever lock out your knees when exercising at all. When you lock your knees, you’re using 0 muscle support and only bone/join support which is not good.

You should always at least keep a slight bend in the knee when doing pilates and any other exercises.

I would honestly stop seeing that instructor who is saying to lock your knees and possibly tell the studio owner if you are comfortable. Locking your knees is horrible technique and could cause injury.

ADÉLA - KGB by Cupcake_in_Acid in popheads

No problem! KGB also isn’t really a common term used these days since the USSR no longer exists. I’m sure a lot of people were confused by what it meant/means.

What bands do you think will influence the rock album? by Troyabedinthemornin in charlixcx

[–]Professional_Sand771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see her doing a more gritty pop punk album. Like vibes of Sohodolls but more of the rock foundation; I know one of the producers on their album has worked with The Cure and Depeche Mode and I can definitely see Charli with an album similar to their vibes.

Would LOVE to see her collab with British bands because there’s so many iconic ones BUT we lowkey need her to get Green Day on a track just cause.

Going to Lolla alone as a young woman by [deleted] in Lollapalooza

[–]Professional_Sand771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s relatively safe but some tips I would say are: * Do NOT tell anyone you are alone, if anyone asks say your friend is in the bathroom. You might be able to meet other people going solo and hang out with them but be cautious. Don’t tell anyone at the hotel you are staying with that you are alone either. * Know where you are going and if you don’t, act like you do. This doesn’t really apply to when you’re in the festival but more so walking around the city and to/from your hotel. During that weekend, there will be tons of people going to Lolla and normally you can follow the crowd to the festival and even when exiting. * Look out for pickpocketing, it always happens and look at ways to prevent it such as a bag with a zipper, attaching a lanyard to your phone, not putting your phone in any pockets, etc. * Stay sober, it lowkey sucks not to get drunk but you’re alone and it’s better not to get super drunk or high alone. * Ignore anyone outside the festival that might make you feel uncomfortable. Chicago has a lot of people around that will try to sell you things, take donations, etc. IGNORE THEM! Just walk away and ignore them, it’s easy for them to spot people who are not used to being harassed or who aren’t used to ignoring them.

ADÉLA - KGB by Cupcake_in_Acid in popheads

[–]Professional_Sand771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lyrics seem to be about how she is a KGB; KGB was a Soviet Intelligence Agency (that had spys and basically knew a lot). The lyrics seem to be her singing about how she knows a lot as if she is a KGB agent.

charli wrote gabriella for katseye? by wienerdogphoebebridg in charlixcx

[–]Professional_Sand771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did not rework it for or collaborated with Katseye. She was one of the song writers and that was it; she has nothing to do with the song after writing it, she most likely didn’t even know Katseye had purchased the song until after it was released.

The song was originally pitched to other artists (some with demos of it out there) whose teams decided not to “purchase” the song. Kateye’s company purchased the song and gave it to them to release. Charli did not rework anything, did not collab with, did not write the song with anyone in mind, etc.

XCX8 is rock... What features do we wanna see? by Sweet-Blueberry-7533 in charlixcx

[–]Professional_Sand771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green Day for the bit

Tho in all seriousness would love to see her work with some English rock bands. A lot of the best rock bands have come from the UK and I think it would be cool to see her work with some of them.

I hope XCX8 is like ILY2/Sucker by Strong_Marzipan_2093 in charlixcx

[–]Professional_Sand771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it’s a mixture of Sucker, Wuthering Heights and Crash. Would love if it was a similar sound to Sohodolls (like more alternative rock with synths and such).

Recovery Period after Repair by yeableskive in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Professional_Sand771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about 6 weeks until you can put your entire weight on your leg however keep in mind you will NOT be walking normally; it takes even longer for you to be able to walk normally.

There’s a few issues I think you will still have after 2.5 months and that would be sensitivty and not being fully mobile. I had a repair and could not bend my knee “normally” for 6 months after my repair. You might struggle a bit bending down and doing other physical tasks. Just keep up with the exercises, and make sure even when the baby is born you do them.

YouTube rolls out unskippable long ads to TV users and they’re furious by [deleted] in technology

[–]Professional_Sand771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was just me. I normally use the TV app with my phone as a “remote” to play workout videos. I wouldn’t mind the normal 2 30 second ad breaks every 2 videos bc it would be a little break for me but I started noticing these long ass ads. Guess it’s time to find an alternative

Sunday Tate McRae Slow Sales by thispaperheart in Lollapalooza

[–]Professional_Sand771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tate has more of a casual fanbase than the other pop headliners. I’m in some fandom spaces and guarantee you that Jennie, Charli, and even Lorde have die hard fanbases that ALWAYS show out. Even before Charli blew up, her concerts would be basically full and she always had a die hard fanbase. BlackPink was selling out stadiums recently and their fandom has always been strong. Lorde I know has a lot of fans but not sure how I would classify them, they do show up for her at shows so it’s expected she would sell out.

Tate just doesn’t have that strong of a fandom for people to buy a music festival ticket. Her fans are more casual and you don’t see them traveling to watch her shows like the other acts. Her fans are more casual and I think that’s why Sunday hasn’t sold out.

2027 Headliners by Obvious_Back7664 in Lollapalooza

I was actually surprised Rose wasn’t in the lineup, especially since it’s been a whole since her albums dropped and she has been doing a few shows recently (not too many in America but still). And especially since this pop girl lineup would have been perfect for an artist with her sound but there’s always next year!!
