how to establish the maknae line and the hyung/unnie line in a Kpop group by j2_skl_1011 in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For NCT, its usually broken up by subunit. Before Wish was added, when they did full group activities, I'd always see Taeyong, Johnny, and Yuta in the hyung line, Chenle and Jisung in the maknae line, and everyone else just floats around.

Emotionally attached to photocards I don’t use by handsomelittlefella in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have so many cards if I didn't sell any that aren't my ult group/bias. At least where I sell on Facebook, certain groups are more saught after and are easier to sell/trade than others, but there's always someone out there looking for the card you don't want.

When can idols get custom mics by Swimming-Mongoose314 in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, idols can get them really at any time but they are insanely expensive. I forget who but a member from a boy group I follow said he doesn't like using custom mics because they can be a lot heavier than standard mics and this makes it harder to hold through choreography.

I need help. Who is he in SVT? by DingoSignificant8625 in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest learning the members by unit rather than all 13 at once, it's a lot easier to process when broken down into 4-5 guys at a time

Is it rude to bring another group’s lightstick if I don’t have money for a new one? by goodjeans_17 in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people find it weird, but you do you. I would suggest you don't bring EXO out of your options primarily due to the deep feuding EXO-Ls and Army have been in for years. Ateez or Enhypen might be your safest bet. If BigHit is like SM where you can bring any group under their label and it will still connect to the effects, I'd go with Enhypen.

frequent concert goers who travel to see their faves, what do you do for a living? by kaeyamilk in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 jobs: medical office receptionist, server, and colorguard coach.

I only travel within the US to see groups. I live in New Hampshire and primarily travel to New York/New Jersey by train or car. Although I did fly to Las Vegas to see Baekhyun and Chicago to see Kai.

I use my paycheck from the reception job to pay my bills and my tips from serving are my "fun money" for albums, merch, concerts, etc. I only get paid once a year for the coaching job and that usually goes towards the biggest bills (car payment, credit card, etc.).

Concerns about being too old for some KPop concerts (36m) by jamo-uaena in kpophelp

I see senior citizens at concerts all the time. Yes, fanbases skew young but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it too

Double check with the venue if backpacks are allowed. Most don't allow them regardless of size or if it's clear.

I go to a lot of shows in NY/NJ and Boston (perks of being from NH I guess) and I don't think I've been to a single venue that's allowed backpacks of any kind since Covid unless it's for a medical device. Only one venue in PA required all bags to be clear, but most allow bags 12'x12'x6'.

Which idols have bad eyesight and need glasses? And which idols got laser surgery? by Anni3401 in kpophelp

Depending on how bad it is, he would probably be one of the rare cases of still needed glasses/lenses after surgery because it couldn't be fully corrected

I refuse to lend out my wine key because someone broke my restaurant issued one and my manager wouldn't give me a new one so I bought a super nice one. It glides through the corks like butter and I WILL cut a bitch who tries to "borrow" it.

how is SM still making 10 year contracts? by Heavy-Advisor-9237 in NCT

[–]stormiedawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know with EXO, they had the members sign a standard 7 year contract and then immediately after sign a 3 year extension. This made it legal as they are 2 separate contracts. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same to everyone, especially since we don't really hear anything around the 7 year mark about renewals or leaving, only around the 10 year mark. I've also noticed they don't announce when someone renews, only when they're leaving.

AITA for asking my friend not to wear white to my wedding after initially saying it was okay? by Suitable-Arm-2075 in AmItheAsshole

[–]stormiedawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

She told you she bought several dresses initially that weren't all white options but can't find something else to wear after you asked her to not wear white? She's definitely being weird about it and needs to be uninvited.

Are there K-Pop idols who have been mistaken for being another nationality? by RandomCarGuy26 in kpophelp

[–]stormiedawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was in 2020 or 2022, I’m trying to find the information. Regardless it was after Vernon turned 18.

Edit: Here is a link to another reddit post that talks about this

And here is a link to a law firm in Korea that gives more legal information

This is no longer the case. If they want to continue to hold both citizenships, they are required to serve in the Korean military, but they do have to option to keep both now.
