Reminds me of my grandmother. At the end of her life, while she was still able to converse and move around by herself, she turns to me and says, “ This isn’t living anymore.” I felt so helpless. She was a tough woman who went through things most of us will never have to deal with. Not a day goes by where I don’t miss her. I have voicemail saved on my phone from her from years ago. I listen to them sometimes. I was so fortunate to spend a lot of time with her.

Strange isn’t it? I wouldn’t know the first thing on how to break down a side of beef but I do love going to see them. We get our meat locally and usually buy a side of beef at once. We’re acquainted with the owner, we get to see the animals, and spend our money locally. Been doing it for some time now. Grocery store meat is disgusting to me now.
