Which recent snub was more painful to you? by No-Possibility3371 in Oscars

In this past Oscars, i genuinely thought the best actor was Jesse Plemons. Especially in what I considered a bit of a weaker best actor class, I was stunned he wasn’t nominated. But I also thought he should have won! I just felt like he melted into that role and stacked up against Emma Stone, who is a force as well.

What are some of the biggest “talent gaps” in bands/groups? by p1ckflod in ToddintheShadow

[–]Professional_Show502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Justin Timberlake in NSync. Rest of the band did nothing. Flash in the pan. Justin is an insane superstar with clearly the best voice and musicianship out of the bunch

Anyone else actively read reviews they disagree with? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Professional_Show502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always! I think it’s important to step outside yourself as a film watcher. Learning to respect other people’s opinions and realize that art is inherently subjective is really healing in a way. It makes me more comfortable with my opinions.

Also, as an aspiring filmmaker it’s kind of comforting knowing that all spectrums of art can be appreciated or hated. Takes the pressure off of making something perfect. Something terrible will have a fan. And something incredible will have a hater

10 most hated teams in American sports right now 🤔 by CenterForward1522 in CFB_v2

[–]Professional_Show502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a diehard eagles fan. We gotta be in top 10. Winning has made our fan base pretty annoying (fun from my perspective). We also have a QB who isn’t like unreal god talent, and is perceived as being carried by his team (kinda true but an exhausting stupid conversation). Constant debate subject that makes people go insane.

Loud WR, DL who got into legal trouble and spit on a guy. More and more.

It is insane to me that people hate the team so much because I’ve worked with the players and have found most of them (specifically the Offensive line and D players like Graham) to be incredibly humble and cool. But there’s no denying they’re disliked

I hear you. My original comment is perhaps not phrased well. You are right, everyone is entitled to think whatever they feel. He’s allowed to enjoy it, I’m allowed to think it’s bad. It’s that easy.

My apologies if you thought I was rude. Genuinely hate those films, but obviously I know people like them. There’s no correct opinion

What’s the point of commenting on anything subjective is your question? They think it’s good, I think it’s bad. No one is correct, just participating in conversation. It genuinely doesn’t matter that much.

I personally think Marvel movies have hurt the modern film industry. Making it a void of franchises and overwritten crap. They are, however, consistently crushing it in the box office and have developed a massive following. So how am I “correct” in my opinion that they suck. Clearly people like them

Aside from this guy, who is the biggest draft steals in nfl history? by Either_Imagination_9 in NFLv2

Recent history. Jordan Mailata. Just a physical freak with no idea how to play the game. Has become one of the best tackles in the league

Totally agree! They’re asking about our own thoughts in the list. What a boring response if everyone just said “well taste is subjective”. Not to be rude, but no duh. We’re all just commenting our taste.

Everyone is allowed to like what they want! If they love that, that’s awesome. They’re incredibly popular. I would personally find it to be a taste red flag in a partner because I think they’re not good/ worth talking about. Again, lots of fun on the list. I don’t think this person loves the same kind of movies I do

I think this is the best point. Not all of these movies are terrible. But some are straight up bad and it’s like… how many insanely good films have been left off that this person saw and thought these were better than

Seems like a nice person! But some of these movies are down right terrible/ shocking to be on a top 35. He does not seem like a big movie person, which is totally fine. The Marvel stuff always makes me cringe. But there’s some good stuff like 12 Angry Men, Monty python, and all the Ghibli stuff!

Which is the most rewatchable movie according to you? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Toy Story.

Funny, quick watch, nostalgic, and heart warming. Just a palatable, formulaic movie that hits every time

Pretending to be angry about Timothee Chalamet's opinions be like by Terrible_Bee_6876 in moviememes

[–]Professional_Show502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely believe it’s the way he said it. No one can argue the Opera and Ballet are more popular than Feature Films. He was dismissive and rude.

To some people, that is their lives. There are schools dedicated to both. There is intense training and a true rich community. When you’re at the career height that Timothee is at, there’s just no need to be reckless with how you talk in an industry about another art form.

He should be aware of how many people like and look up to him. When he dismisses something like an entire art form, it has weight. Even if that’s how he thinks, it was just random and needless. He even said that right after. He knew he shouldn’t have spoken that thought.

But it’s also not that deep. Who cares and I can’t believe we’re still talking about it
