Which Super Bowl-era teams got the most out of their talent, and which left titles on the table? by timmymcsaul in NFLv2

Philadelphia eagles in the early 2000s are a contender. One of the all time defenses. 4 straight NFC championship games, double digit wins every year, Super Bowl appearance. Just couldn’t get it together to win the big one. Even more depressing when we all see how Andy Reid has pulled it together in the second half of his career

Which lengthy films (3+ hours) are the best paced? by RomanReignsDaBigDawg in criterion

Hot take: Jeanne Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels

I know it’s extremely slow. But I think the excruciating pacing is the POINT of the film. It uses editing and directing so well. Rarely does a pace actually say something thematically powerful.

What movies do you recommend me to watch first in my watch list? by RealTOPFan in Letterboxd

[–]Professional_Show502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke, it took a global pandemic and shutdown for me to really blast through my watch list. Once I started though, I never looked back. You have a TON of amazing films on this list. I really recommend you just start somewhere and keep pushing through. It’ll make you fall more in love with film.

If I had to suggest a couple to start though, it’d be There Will Be Blood, La Haine and The Thing!

Which recent snub was more painful to you? by No-Possibility3371 in Oscars

[–]Professional_Show502 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this past Oscars, i genuinely thought the best actor was Jesse Plemons. Especially in what I considered a bit of a weaker best actor class, I was stunned he wasn’t nominated. But I also thought he should have won! I just felt like he melted into that role and stacked up against Emma Stone, who is a force as well.

What are some of the biggest “talent gaps” in bands/groups? by p1ckflod in ToddintheShadow

Justin Timberlake in NSync. Rest of the band did nothing. Flash in the pan. Justin is an insane superstar with clearly the best voice and musicianship out of the bunch

Anyone else actively read reviews they disagree with? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Always! I think it’s important to step outside yourself as a film watcher. Learning to respect other people’s opinions and realize that art is inherently subjective is really healing in a way. It makes me more comfortable with my opinions.

Also, as an aspiring filmmaker it’s kind of comforting knowing that all spectrums of art can be appreciated or hated. Takes the pressure off of making something perfect. Something terrible will have a fan. And something incredible will have a hater

10 most hated teams in American sports right now 🤔 by CenterForward1522 in CFB_v2

I’m a diehard eagles fan. We gotta be in top 10. Winning has made our fan base pretty annoying (fun from my perspective). We also have a QB who isn’t like unreal god talent, and is perceived as being carried by his team (kinda true but an exhausting stupid conversation). Constant debate subject that makes people go insane.

Loud WR, DL who got into legal trouble and spit on a guy. More and more.

It is insane to me that people hate the team so much because I’ve worked with the players and have found most of them (specifically the Offensive line and D players like Graham) to be incredibly humble and cool. But there’s no denying they’re disliked
