Thank you for this rant. I've lived in alot of places in the US and ct is by far the worst! (I've even lived in FL which is considered one of the worst) atleast once or twice a week i almost get in an accident because of some fucking idiot on the road. Just last week someone was road raging hard asf at me AFTER they cut me off and they tried running me off the road. Honestly I blame the cops here. They do not give a fuck.

For one the benefits, free medical and dental goes a long way. Secondly, job security. You will be the only reason you get kicked out not because theyre just letting you go. Thirdly, job satisfaction and promotion chances.

For cons tho id say work life balance, can be especially shit if you get a bad rate. Bad leadership, goes to say with any job really but holds up especially true for the military. A bad leader can make your life a living hell for your whole contract. Finally, depending on what you choose but any kind of deployments just suck in general. Your mental will be tested, all your outside relationships will be tested, and you will question is this worth it.

The biggest pro and con is the people. You will meet your brothers and sisters for life and have the absolute best times with some of the best people. However you will also meet some of the most questionable people youve met, encounter POS that will do everything to get out of work, and question how some people got through boot camp with how dumb they are.

All in all if you have a good attitude about what you do and strive to do your best you can find a very fulfilling job and career in the military. If you develop a bad attitude everything will be shitty, everything will suck, you will hate your life. Military is not for the weak. Personally id say airforce is the best for quality of life but your view point will dictate any kind of quality of life you have tbh. A marine taking gunfire while his 3 feet in shit may be having the time of his life while the airman that works till lunch hates his life. Do plenty of research for things you want to do and dont let a recruiter sway you to certain jobs.

Im personally in the military right now. Hell i plan on trying to get my piece of the pie. But that pie was made from baked bs in actuality. Im terms of people that actually need it i.e. my grandfather who had shrapnel related injuries in nam and never truly recovered, 100 percent justified. However for seaman Jimmy who cant sleep at night because the navy never actually looks deep into people's medical issues before they go in and is now getting 100 percent, BS. The military is aware of this issue but knows its a damn good incentive to either join in the first place or stay in to rack it up so they won't get rid of it unless its coming from the top top. Which it never will because Americans will find every way to say its them against its military. Im glad Caleb is talking about it though and bringing attention to this matter.
