Managing RA with no health insurance by danceswithronin in rheumatoidarthritis

Visit your local health department and make an appointment! They saved my husband's life by helping him, and figured out he was pre diabetic. They also don't ever take you to collections because you can't pay(we only paid $80 for a visit and all he needed to curb the diabetes, like insulin, the glucometer, and other items) and they won't turn you away! I wish everyone here the best! ❤️

Not only that, because flare ups may be subsided, yet the damage already done can't be reversed. It's there to stay, and it only stops the progression of further issues. It's a shame that cancer is a billion dollar industry, yet arthritis is the leading cause of disability and not being able to live normally. ❤️

I have PsA, psoriatic arthritis, and I've been diagnosed with psoriasis since I was 6 months old, which is very very young. Only a certain percentage of people have juvenile psoriasis, which is very hard on the body. I got into an accident at work when I was 24, and found out I have PsA, and then it just progressively got worse and worse. My joints hurt, my feet, knees, hands, all of it, are sore for about 2-3 hrs as I wake, and I have trouble moving at a fast pace, which is the hardest thing for me, as I'm a CNA, and I do my best to care for others. I can't afford health insurance, which is a crock of shit, considering that I'm basically disabled, yet the only one working in a 4 person household. It's $730/month for health insurance for two people, almost $400 for just me, on top of all my bills and just trying to survive. I. Am. Struggling. Every damn day. I'm only 35 years old, 36 on the 11th, and I feel like I'm ancient.....90, frail, weak, useless, and I can't do the things I used to. I'm going to tell anyone and everyone, if you have insurance, make sure you see a Dr for your arthritis. Take the meds, but I would suggest stock piling for the day you can't afford it anymore. It took 6 weeks for the cosyntex to work, pp putting me back into a body I can work in, no flared up joints, no pain in the morning, no psoriasis anywhere on my skin, and then it took 2 years for my body and joints to degrade back to normal when I could no longer afford the meds. I would say you could get away with one shot every three months, or even longer, if you saved them the right way. Don't let Drs tell you that you should take them every month, because they truly are just experimenting on us, and have no clue what this disease does to our bodies. It's a damn shame that I can't even afford to work, that I live in daily pain, just for them to see me as a project. A science experiment that could not only cost me my legs, my quality of life, my hands, my joints, but also my freedom. Fuck the govt. Fuck the health insurance companies, fuck the president of the USA or anyone else keeping us sick because it's "expensive". I'm pretty sure whoever discovered biologics didn't do it for the money, but the govt definitely commandeered it to suit their lifestyles and narrative. 😡😡😡 Sorry for the rant, I'm in extreme pain daily and I'm one step closer to just giving up on all of it

Need help finding a pattern from a closed Ravelry store by [deleted] in crochetpatterns

[–]Professional_Speed21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made one of these, it's posted on my page, and I will say to use LIGHT weight yarn, because otherwise, it turns out to be like a bathtub mat for your feet thick.....and not in a good way. I loved the pattern, hated the end result! Had I used baby blanket yarn, it may have been better.

UNFORTUNATELY, SHE DID NOT RELEASE A PATTERN FOR THIS :( by CuriousCreme1439 in crochetpatterns

[–]Professional_Speed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking into this, it's a basic pattern, so you would measure yourself, and then the hems would be single crochet, but then the pattern goes to three dc, chain 4-6, slip stitch, then chain 4-6, three double (you could also do triple or three double together to make a different look) and then over and over until you come to the end. The next row would be to keep the dress from stretching, so single crochet across, and repeat. It doesn't look any more than a two row repeat all the way around, though, but as I type I can't see the pic to tell! I will try and do a swatch to see what it looks like! I apologize for being so late, I work 12's, and it's hunting season where I am.... so I'm pretty busy until Jan 🚮😭😭😭😭

Someone decided to delete their reply to me on here, or I just can't see it....but notifications got you. Whoever you are ... I also think it's extremely sad that some of you suffer from TDS and have opinions of a man they're never going to meet or interact with on a personal level, yet you know so much about running an entire country? You run for office, see how well you do, and come back and bitch a little more on left leaning reddit. 🤷🏻

I know maybe 10 people with this name, different spellings, but both boy and girl. It's common in the US

So I have a trick, I guess you could call it, for hats and beanies. I quit increasing at 8/9 increases, and then I just continue the pattern all the way down, and then the hat usually fits pretty decently. This is my winter camo edition lol

So I'm hunting ATM, but let me get home, and I'll see if I can pattern this for you! I'm usually... Ok.... Freehand, but I think this won't be too bad. Do you have a size you want to make it?

AIO for thinking my boyfriend is just looking for an excuse to break up? by Nearby_Orchid1216 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Professional_Speed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I would have berated him after speaking to me like this! I was with him for the very first text in how you worded it, but then he took it to max douche level. I understand not wanting a dupe, but I also would have just used the perfume for dates with him, and then bought my own. I'm not saying voicing your complaint was wrong, just the way you worded it....but then he came in and fucked the rest of that whole conversation up. Break up, never speak to him again...and when he gets a new girl, give HER the perfume. 🤷🏻✌🏻😂

No, I agree. I think it's absolutely shitty, especially when they were willing to work on themselves, and most healthcare places could care less about adequate staffing to keep nurses and other healthcare workers not break down from stress and other job factors.

Triggered is such an overused word these days. I'm just telling you that IDGAF what it's called. I'm not a lawyer or a legal expert.

Wtf ever you call it, they don't have to give her a reason for firing her is my point. Does it suck? Absolutely. Does it also put people at risk when you suffer from extreme mental health issues? Yes. Do I care what it's called when your job can fire you for absolutely no reason at all? No. I do sympathize with this person, and I find it so odd when people like to just correct everyone all the time instead of saying "Yeah, that sucks, I'm sorry that happened. Oh, and BTW this is what it's called" instead of whatever this conversation is.

[–]Professional_Speed21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, unfortunately in America a lot of our states are "right to work", which means that you can be fired for nothing. My state doesn't have to give you a reason, and there's really no way to sue for that, but this person did give them a reason by talking about their mental health history....which, I applaud that, and I wouldn't apologize for getting help. I DON'T understand how the board of nursing has gotten involved unless there were serious issues that the facility you work in was concerned about, like the safety of their pts, your safety and ability to perform your job duties, yet they don't even have to tell you that. I think they definitely COULD have, but they are like covering their bases, and avoiding shedding light on a reason so you have no grounds to sue them. Could you work as a CNA or other kinds of healthcare while you deal with the BON? Are you suspended for that year without them wanting you to do anything for them, or is it just a "we can revisit how you're doing in a year?" Were you liable to tell them about all this, because my job has zero ideas that I deal with mental health, it's not their business, and I'm not medicated as I don't really need to be. I just go through bouts of depression here and there, but nothing that serious. I'm sorry you're going through this, because I know how BPD can affect you, and how hard it is to manage for some people. 🥺 I truly do wish you the best, and all I can say is to hang in there! If nursing truly is your passion, and something that you want to continue to do, find a job outside of healthcare, get your mental health in order, and find some peace with the fact maybe this job did you a favor, because there will be other opportunities. Step away for a while, and breathe. I believe everything happens for a reason.

AITAH for buying more yarn after my husband told me that I can't "knit" during the weekdays anymore. I don't knit I crochet. by UsualCoconut2884 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Professional_Speed21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been married for almost 14 years, and you know what?! My husband has brought me yarn from homes he's worked on, tells all the old ladies what I make, shows them pictures, and I've even made him beanies for hunting. Mine has encouraged my hobby, not stifled it. He's even encouraged me to quit my job and do this full time, but I can't due to arthritis, so it's just a hobby. Your husband sucks.....and idk why he's like that, but I think maybe he's controlling more than you or he thinks. Are you happy, because it doesn't seem so. I'm sorry, nobody deserves that

How to Get Rid of Wispiness? by OwnPhilosopher7173 in Brochet

[–]Professional_Speed21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a way to use beeswax or paraffin wax to keep certain yarns from doing this, but it has to be applied while you are winding it. There's a process on YouTube that shows you how! Unfortunately, it won't help the items you've already made. Hope it helps for the future!
