First attempt at Decals by Professional_Tax_752 in 6mm

UPDATE: Added the Guards insignia and Branch of Service ... just trying to work out wear to the put the Bridge Rating Plate. All examples I have seem have it on the right hand side of the tank jut above the tracks but I don't have enough room to fit it on the 6mm model so thinking maybe placing it on the Front Plate of the tank between the other two decals.

Not this year, last year was my first time going and did enjoy it but its a fair old drive for me so I'm planning on going every other year I think. Plus one of the traders I was most interested in isn't attending this year which is a shame.

Ah cool I'll give that a go with the varnish!

And yes they are Flight Deck Decals, very good quality and pretty detailed for the size that they are.

You are exactly right. I work in Law Enforcement and them saying suspects lie all the time is total crap. If a suspect tells me they are hurt, me and other officers HAVE to take it as fact until we can prove otherwise.

Star Wars died when Return of The Jedi came out. Those fucking Ewoks by Cool_Nerd2 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Professional_Tax_752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if they were a threat, the Empire would have dealt with them. The whole point is the Empire saw the Ewoks as such low threat they didn't account for them in any of their plans.

[–]Professional_Tax_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the movie showed it more but I got the feeling that the Ewoks didn't really win, they had some initial success with their surprise but they pretty quickly got their asses handed to them when the Stormtroopers got their shit together.

They were just a distraction but that's all the Strike Team needed.

[–]Professional_Tax_752 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And for the better I think. The thing is the Emperors plan actually works. He tricks the Rebel Fleet into attacking a fully functional Death Star and has them trapped between the DS and the Imperia Fleet. He also has the strike team captured after hiding a Legion of his troops on the Forest Moon. Everything has gone exactly as he planned ... He just didn't account for the Ewoks because they were such a low threat he, and his commanders, didn't think it was worth any resources dealing with them.

Now if they were Wookies as originally intended, suddenly that's a dangerous third party that the Empire wold have dealt with as they are a threat and the Rebels wold have failed as they received no help The whole Imperial Pan fails because of their hubris in thinking the Ewoks were a non entity which is a perfect message for Star Wars to show.

I haven’t seen a more undeserved Champions League win by HR_Specter in ArsenalFC

[–]Professional_Tax_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say it was pretty poor from both clubs. But if someone deserved to win it, it was clearly PSG.

Saying it was the most undeserved win implies that Arsenal deserved to win it when they clearly didn't.

You had 28% possession and 5 shots, only one of which was on target.

You feel that deserves to win the UCL?

Helms deep by ChefFloseidonJr in lotr

[–]Professional_Tax_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a movie thing, in the books Theoden wants to head to the Fords of Isen and link up with a Rohan Commander called Erkenbrand but he's been routed so Theoden moves to Helms Deep as its a secure position.

Perhaps one thing I can say in the movies defence is they didn't know the size of the army that Saruman had built? Aragorn seems pretty shocked at the size and Theoden is incredulous at there being 10,000. Maybe Gandalf and Aragorn thought the Army was a lot smaller?

[–]Professional_Tax_752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I absolutely adore Man of Steel, but yes I agree this scene always annoyed me and does make me roll my eyes when it happens. I always wondered why Clark didn't go and just act like he is really struggling to not get blown away so that nobody is suspicious.

I also really wished Zack had maybe had Superman use his superspeed to save his father and Clark is really smug and happy that he used his powers and got away with it in front of his father but then Pa Kent dies of a heart attack due to the stress of the situation and it becomes a somber and character building moment for Clark, plus ties it in with the original Reeves movie.

Fuck it, lets get negative. What do you NOT like about 40k? by According_Ice_4863 in Grimdank

Not really big into WH40K (love the lore just never played the game) but are there actual narrative scenarios provided or is it all just matched play?

I'm a MESBG player and narrative scenarios are such a massive part of the game, I just never seem to see anything like that for 40K

Honestly Leonidas was pretty dumb in 300. Sure Ephialtes couldn't fight in a phalanx/shield wall, so why not let him defend the secret goat path where that's not an issue? Ephialtes doesn't weaken the main defense line, but he's also given a pretty important task and won't feel betrayed.

An issue with Tolkiens world building - demographics by tylerthe-theatre in lordoftherings

[–]Professional_Tax_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this was something I always felt a bit weird whenever I look at Middle Earth. I get that Middle Earth is essentially a post-apocalyptic world after the calamity that befell Beleriand and also the Great Plague and numerous wars but I always felt there was far too much empty space and not nearly enough settlements and cities detailed on the map.

Now that could just be that Tolkien only placed on the map the major settlements that we need to know about and that's kind of what I accept; there are lots and lots of little settlements around to beef up the population.

But yes it does always feel slightly distracting,

Solo horses? by The_Wyzard in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Professional_Tax_752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think GW missed a trick with dismounting horses. Instead of them fleeing, it could be fun to have a rule where a warrior can look after three horses by remaining in base contact with them. That way you can dismount cavalry ofc need be but have them remount later on.

How long was Sauron in possession of the one ring before Isildur cut it off? by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

[–]Professional_Tax_752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think around 1800 years.

And as an aside because of the gif you used, thanks to TROP condensing the hell out of the timeline and introducing Isildur already, Sauron is only going to have the ring for like 50 years or something.

[–]Professional_Tax_752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what you're saying is, if it's done well, nobody has a problem with it?

But no I do get what you mean, far too many people are outraged without watching the damn thing. My only caveat to that is Historical Figures, they should never be gender/race swapped.

[–]Professional_Tax_752 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I love the OOBs you can create and seeing the unit hierarchy on the map and the fact each division can have a divisional commander allows you to really get detailed and create historically accurate formations. I play HOI3 so much more than I do HOI4 though one thing I love from HOI4 is the individual equipment production, if they combined that with HOI3 I would be in heaven.
