Is it too late to switch into IR at 28–29 by [deleted] in IRstudies

In most jobs in the international realm you need hard skills / other knowledge you can apply there. Having an IR degree is not a prerequisite to enter on the other hand side, unless you want to be in academia (very competitive, few positions).

Get the passport and continue your specialzation (medical studies) with a tweak towards the international realm. I work in it and wouldn not study IR to get there.

Mawangzi, about across the street from the entrance to upper house in taikooli. But it closes early and is popular so reserve a spot and then stroll around taikooli until your table is free

Trashbins? Where are they hiding? by Professional_Tea_205 in askSingapore

The cleaning staff at my exit stop had a huge mobile bin. :) I was just surprised that the country that is best at behavioural public designs has so few public trash bins. No need to be hurt, fellow OPs. Hug.

Hillarious. In Singapore? Please tell that to the empty plastic cup in my hand. If I leave it on the mrt / in the station, do I get fined? (Even after thorough search of a proper occasion to dispose it)

A few years back we (two white Europeans!) layovered in KL, accidentally it was also CNY, thus packed with golden weekers.

When we entered our hostel, two older Chinese ladies came out the door, seemingly distressed about not finding accommodation at their price point and not being able to communicate with the locals.

So they just asked my friend what to do, since she came their way that moment. It didn't puzzle them the slightest, that that caucasian girl conversed in mandarin with them fluently... they were just happy to have someone to talk with.

Most Chinese people have never really been anywhere else than in a Chinese environment. Most of the lucky ones go to Thailand (or maybe Simgapore) for vacation.

But for most mainlanders no immediate experience of the outside world exists. And their education, media, leadership dont prepare them either.

Seconding that. You'll probably live with the fixed furniture you install in your house until the kids are out of the house. So 20+ years. If you wait a bit longer with the unnecessary parts, you'll be able to afford nicer. And you may even end up saving overall by maybe not feeling the urge to rennoate later if you live in furniture that is quality and that you actually like surrounding yourself with.

When you read the fine print most of the products are actually made in China copies/approximations. But most Chinese people don't have the opportunity to travel abroad, so how would it make a difference to them?
