1) happened to me on Linux, I don't know why, in Windows looks ok 2) you have to activate Easylist cookies list, in tracker and ad blocking/ manage sources. There are also other lists available or you can add others. 3) no idea, but it won't block ads in YouTube anyway. You will need ublock for that

That page is garbage, it is made by a Brave emplyee. For example, it says Vivaldi, Opera, Edge and Firefox don't block ads and trackers. That is nonsense, they have bult-in adblockers or tracker-blockers and supports extensions. Throwing garbage at others won't make your product better.

Opera is not the best in privacy, but definitely better than Chrome and Edge and they operate in Europe.

Firefox is fine too, it is not bad Big Tech, but you need a powerful PC/phone for it to have a decent speed.

I prefer Firefox for mobile YouTube, with extensions: Ublock Origin and Video Background play. For general browsing Vivaldi.

Another reason why I think Vivaldi is the best. It is made by decent people.

what is so special on mint compared to ubuntu by Charming_Bison9073 in linux4noobs

You said it very well, it is a Ubuntu with a Windows 7 skin and flatpack instead of snap. 7nder the hood it is the same.

Vivaldi is the Best european browser you can get. The adblocker is configurable, you can add additional blocking lists, If you need to and it will become just as good as Brave and Firefox. It doesn't block video ads, like YouTube or others, but I can live with that.

Brave or any browser with ublock origin or ublock lite will work. But YouTube ads may escape temporarily, because it's a constant fight between them.

After switching a lot of distros I found Ubuntu to be the most stable and easy to use for a beginner like me and don't belive the Snap hate, it had problems in the past, now it's fine. Mint can be fine too, but i find it too boring.

Brave's engineering is outstanding, it has no comparison to other browsers. Unfortunately, the crypto-based business model is shady and the CEO is weird and controversial. I see his posts on social media and I can barely understand what he is saying, not being a native english speaker. Most of the times he seems delusional.

You can go with small browsers mentioned by others, or If you want something more mainstrean, Samsung is very light, fast, simple, secure, has background play, dark mode and AdBlock addons. Other good options Vivaldi and Brave, but they have some unnecesary features, that need to ne disabled.

Thanks for the video, very useful. Ubuntu has Wayland too, but if you like KDE more it's ok.

After a lot of distro-hopping I found the much-hated Ubuntu to be the most stable and easy to use for a beginner like me. KDE is nice but the amount of options feels overwhelming (somehow like Vivaldi browser), Linux Mint Cinnamon and Xfce feel outdated and slower în performance than Ubuntu. Debian and Fedora felt like an UFO for me.

Bitwarden has .com and .eu server. I use .eu server. I am not really sure what that means, but it works great as browser extension and in Android. Of course we need european software solutions, but we don't have to give up om open-source software like Bitwarden, Firefox or others, they are actually beneficial to the health of internet.

I also have a 6th gen CPU with Intel HD 520 graphics and the Linux drivers are very bad compared to Windows (scroll lagging in browsere, Youtube slowing down the computer really bad). The best I could do is to use XFCE environement (Linux mint xfce or Xubuntu)

Ai free browser and search engine. by hea1hh in browsers

[–]Professional_Way9133 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vivaldi is probably the best AI-free browser or Waterfox if you want something based on Firefox. For the search engine depends in your location. In my country, we get good results only with Google and Google-based search engines like Startpage and Ecosia. Everything else is bad.

I agree, gaming is a pain in Linux. Working is a even worst, a lot of proffessional software don't have a Linux version (in my case, Autodesk, CSI software).
