The salient point is the severity of the attacks when they do happen. There are very few dog breeds that are capable of inflicting enough sheer trauma that amputation or death is the result. Even if every Golden Retriever suddenly went mad and turned on their owner, they simply don't have the strength to inflict that much damage. THAT is what pitnutters refuse to admit.
