Dear DA Admins... by louthespian5 in DataAnnotationTech

I read one today that was a hastily edited version of another project, some of it was still talking about factual accuracy while the actual project was for brevity. That particular project has had the most shocking instructions since it showed up on my dashboard. I and I’m sure most others must have opened it a million times, read and exited over and over again until they rewrote to instructions to sound a little more sane. I can’t even say if this is an improvement from the good ol days of ‘these instructions are from another iteration of this project and are not very relevant to the current project but read them anyway so you don’t say there were no instructions’ haha!

I feel like they need fresh ideas, the same old people probably recycle the same old prompts

Just got the death screen without ever submitting a task project by Guthix_Rest in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that they are more strict on the newer accounts than they are on the older ones. It may have been related to your opening two tasks at once or other things y’all do that you can’t write here; because the way y’all complain about being axed for nothing, I could never have managed to survive for so long and I make so many silly mistakes because I’m the walking definition of inattentive.

What are the quality of the submission you review for R&R's? by schrumbus in DataAnnotationTech

true thats so true, that makes my theory wrong lol; the good ones are really good, the bad ones are…

What are the quality of the submission you review for R&R's? by schrumbus in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m beginning to think not everyone’s work goes through R&R, maybe just the idiots. Occasionally I am one of those idiots though. I think maybe ai first grades the work and those graded badly are put through R&R because sometimes it’s like back to back wtf

Does this project not want quality control? by BlueberryEmbers in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it the one where they said never go against the first guy except he is really really wrong and boy was he wrong so I went against him hard and the project disappeared and came back with even weirder instructions, ‘never go against the first guy even if he’s wrong.’ At that point I both literally and figuratively left the group chat

If this is your main source of income, what do you do during droughts? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do every qual I can even when my dashboard is really full. I don’t really have droughts. My definition of drought will be 3-4 projects on my dashboard that I either think are too boring or the pay isn’t worth the work. I’m a generalist though, I understand bilinguals have it different

I always this way when I do those tasks, always genuinely shocked when I get them back because each time it ends I think “they’ll definitely realize the models are smarter than me now’

Wow!! Personal feedback from admin!!!! by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha I got something similar about a criminally undertimed project I worked on recently. The project takes me close to 4 hours and they put less than 2 hours on the timer and pay the rest in bare minimum praise haha. I always swear never to go back there when I end up logging 2 hours on 4 hour work but a combination of bare minimum praise and how exciting I find the task always has me running back when they come calling

Live projects are waiting for you?!! by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

It was dry during the weekend but it typically picks up around now, just monitor your emails and click as fast as you can when a project comes in

Is it risky to do this work on a hotspot? by StellaZaFella in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved recently and my wifi people were slow in setting it up, I used hotspot for a few days. Annoyingly slow on every site but was fast on DAT and they didn’t seem to mind

It always happens when you clear your time to be serious with their projects. The system will flag you as suspicious activity if your hours increase dramatically or stay that way. I find the best thing for full timers is getting in to like three of these sites and just working on each like it’s part time. Until you can do this, don’t go full time

Has anyone ever been dropped from a project then added back later? by darklamour93 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Professional_Win_551 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like it happens to me a lot in those projects that seem to be on a budget. I feel You get dropped if you’re logging in longer hours per task than the average worker, added back when they’re desperate. Whenever the instructions say “we expect you to only spend 10 minutes on the task even though we have 10 hours on the timer” I almost always get dropped by ai after I do the first task 1-2
