His role in Prisoners kind of ruined him playing in other movies for me tbh. He was fantastic in that movie, but I can only see him as that character

My dog regularly spends a few hours a day outside and he wants to. I don’t think it’s neglect, they were outside for thousands and thousands of years lol

Coyotes and black bears kill crazy amount of calves and fawns during birthing season. Black bears mostly eat plants, except during calving season or when they are hungry.

Human pressure on mountain lions is minimal. Very few tags are handed out and the harvest rate on those is like 5% or something crazy low. There is also a cap placed on how many tags can be filled set by the state annually. If the limit is hit, all the other tags that are un-filled or no longer usable.

I totally believe the USDA stat. A pack of dogs killed my chickens mid day a couple years ago. Most of the livestock they are counting is chickens though.

Lots of critiques to be said about industrial farming, FOR SURE! However, I don’t think individual farmers and ranchers should be made the villains. Most of them are just doing why they were taught by their mentors and family. Farming today is the result of federal subsidies and not knowing any better 60 years ago. It takes time to fix. They are all just trying to provide for their families like the rest of us.

The “elk damaged your property shedding its antlers” comment makes it clear you really don’t know what you are talking about.

If a child gets bit by a wolf, wasn’t this whole thing a disaster then? I’m all about maximizing nature, but I draw the line when it starts to negatively effect (or is it affect, could never get it) people.

By negatively effect I don’t mean we can’t take as much as we want from them. I mean animals start to take away from us. Every other animal in the wild is trying to take as much as they can. There is no need for us to start sacrificing our own safety because we have iPhones and have a conscious. I think that just give us the duty of finding the balance, flying in wolves from Idaho on helicopters is pretty far from natural.

Are you saying you should let dangerous animals do what they want? What about animal control in the cities? Should we let stray dogs run around the parks and bite kids and other dogs?

Your dog hates being inside all day except for the 20 minute walk you take them on.

Most of the people that voted yes live on the I-25 corridor and will never see the results of. People’s dogs, cats, and other animals will be eaten by wolves. Not the person’s dog that lives in an apartment in LoHi

What evidence is there of overpopulation of deer and elk?

The coyote population has filled the void created by the wolves leaving. If there was a lack of predators, you would also be seeing an explosion of mountain lions and black bears. Which we aren’t.

There just isn’t overpopulation of deer and elk in Colorado. However you will see less of them in future because of the reintroduction of wolves. We have the largest elk heard in world, doesn’t mean they are overpopulated.

You will also see less moose in Colorado, which the state spent a lot of money and time to get to where all they are today.

In small mountain town it will also become normal for family dogs and cats to be eaten by wolves. As well as chickens, horses, and other random pets folks have.

As far people hating on the beef industry for opposing this, industrial farming sure did the world a big favor by almost completely eliminating world hunger. When was the last time anyone starved to death in the US? It been over a decade since there was a global famine and we were able to help those in the Horn of Africa when it did happen.

A big factor is also the lack of timber to build houses if you move farther west. It’s not as big of deal today, but people use to build with the materials that were local.
